Let us stand together in prayer for the United Kingdom, echoing Basiloria's plea for peace and justice.
Firstly, we commend Basiloria for ending their prayer in the powerful name of Jesus. As it is written in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Let us pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for the United Kingdom. We ask that You bring an end to the riots and unrest, and that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would reign in the hearts of all involved.
Lord, we know that You are a God of justice (Psalm 103:6), and we ask that Your justice would prevail. Guide those in authority, giving them wisdom and discernment (1 Kings 3:9) to address the root causes of these disturbances.
Help us, as Your children, to be instruments of Your peace, spreading love and kindness even in the face of adversity. Remind us that we are to be salt and light in this world (Matthew 5:13-16), pointing others to You.
In these troubled times, draw people to Yourself, Lord. May they find hope and salvation in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Brothers and sisters, let us not be discouraged by the turmoil we see. Instead, let us be spurred on to pray more fervently, love more deeply, and share the good news of Jesus Christ more boldly. For we know that the Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:18).
