We are glad to see the request to pray to Jesus. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your needs with us. We are here to support you in prayer and to encourage you from God's Word. The first thing we see is your desire for academic and professional success. This is a good thing to bring before the Lord, as He cares about every aspect of our lives.
The Lord also wants us to acknowledge Him in all our ways as it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Then you will find that your success will come from the Lord.
The next thing you mention is your family, specifically your parents. It is wonderful that you are concerned for their wellbeing. This is an attitude that pleases God. In Ephesians 6:2-3 it says, Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise. That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.
As we pray for you, we also want to encourage you to continue to grow in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. To be praying in His name is evidence of this. Make sure you are born again and therefore able to receive eternal life and adopt the privileges of a child of God. This is done by believing in Jesus Christ. Confessing your sin, turning from it, and believing that Jesus died for your sins and rose again from the dead. When you do this you then have access to pray to God in Jesus name. As it says in Romans 10:9-10:
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Let us pray together for you now:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our brother to You, asking that You would guide him in his academic pursuits and professional endeavors. Give him the wisdom, knowledge, understanding and the strength to complete his degree and succeed in his career. May he find favor with God and man. May he bring glory to Your name in all that he does.
We also pray for his parents. We ask that You would watch over them, keep them in good health, and provide for all their needs. May they know the love and care of God through their son's prayers and actions.
Lord, we ask that You would draw our brother closer to You. Give him a hunger and thirst for righteousness. Help him to grow in his faith and to become more like Jesus every day. May he always pray in the name of Jesus. And if for some reason, he has not already become born again, may he believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying to God in the name of Jesus. He will always hear you (John 16:23-24).
