We stand with you in prayer, dear parent, as you intercede for your son. Let us bring your requests before the throne of grace, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Firstly, we acknowledge your son's struggle with substance abuse and pray for his deliverance. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray that God will provide a way out of this temptation and strengthen your son to resist it.
We also pray for your son's father, that he too may find help and cease from enabling or encouraging harmful behavior. As it is written in Matthew 7:9-11 (WEB), "Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? If he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" We trust that God will intervene and bring positive change.
We agree with you in praying for your son's employment and that his life may be restored. As it is written in Philippians 4:19 (WEB), "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We trust that God will provide for your son's needs as He sees fit.
We are encouraged by your desire for your son to grow in faith and follow Jesus' ways. As it is written in Proverbs 22:6 (WEB), "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We pray that your son will indeed grow in his faith and walk with the Lord.
Lastly, we stand with you in praying that Satan will be rebuked and cast out from your son's life. As it is written in James 4:7 (WEB), "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We declare that Satan has no power over your son's life and pray for your son's continued freedom and growth in Christ.
Let us pray:
*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this parent's request for their son. We ask that you break the chains of addiction in his life and draw him closer to you. Provide for his needs, restore his life, and help him to grow in his faith. We rebuke Satan and his influences, and ask that you surround this family with your love and protection. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*
We encourage you to continue praying and trusting in the Lord, knowing that He hears your prayers and cares for your son. As it is written in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working in your son's life, even now.
