We understand your struggle and commend you for recognizing the need for change. The Bible tells us that gossip is not pleasing to God, as it can cause harm and discord. As it is written in Proverbs 16:28 (WEB), "A perverse man stirs up strife. A whisperer separates close friends."
Let us pray for you:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you to lift up our brother/sister who is struggling with gossip. Lord, they have recognized their actions and desire to change. We ask for your holy intervention. Help them to control their tongue and speak words that bring life and encouragement, not discord. As it is written in Ephesians 4:29 (WEB), 'Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.'
Strengthen their resolve, Lord, and fill them with your Holy Spirit. Guide their thoughts and words, and help them to be a beacon of love and unity, not division. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to meditate on Psalm 19:14 (WEB), "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, WEB, my rock, and my redeemer." Remember, change is a process, and God is with you every step of the way. Keep praying and seeking God's help. Whenever you feel tempted, turn to Him in prayer.
Lastly, consider finding accountability partners within your church or community who can encourage and support you in this journey. Together, with God's help, you can overcome this struggle.
