We understand the heaviness in your heart for your daughter's situation. Let's come together in prayer, seeking God's will for her life and her relationship with this young man. We must remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB).
Firstly, we commend your daughter for seeking the Lord and waiting patiently for His will to unfold. This is a reflection of her faith and trust in Him. Psalm 37:7 reminds us, "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him." However, we must also address the fact that while they are not together, this young man has dated and kissed someone else. This action is not in alignment with God's will for relationships. We are called to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), and any romantic involvement outside of marriage should be pursued with great caution and godly intent.
Let us pray for your daughter, for healing from her heartache and for wisdom to navigate this situation. Also, we pray for this young man, that he may seek God's face and turn from any actions that do not honor God. Let's pray that if it is God's will for them to be together, He will make the way clear and work in both of their hearts, drawing them closer to Himself and to each other in a godly manner.
*Prayer:*
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our daughter and her heartache. We ask for Your comfort and healing, Lord. Help her to cast all her cares upon You, knowing that You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Grant her the patience to wait on Your timing and the wisdom to discern Your will for her life.
Lord, we also bring this young man before You. We pray that he may seek Your face and turn from any actions that do not align with Your will. Work in both of their hearts, Lord, drawing them closer to You. If it is Your will for them to be together, we ask that You make the way clear and grant them the grace and strength to pursue a godly relationship.
Lord, we also ask for wisdom for us, as a parent. Help us to support our daughter in a way that honors You, without overstepping. Grant us discernment and guidance, Lord.
Finally, Lord, we pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is in His name that we have access to Your throne of grace. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers.
Amen.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that all prayers should be directed to God through the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we can be saved (Acts 4:12) and have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you or your daughter have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. Believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and was raised on the third day, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
