We are thrilled to join you in prayer for your daughter's upcoming award at school. It's wonderful to see her hard work and dedication being recognized. Let us remember that the Bible tells us, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ" Colossians 3:23-24 WEB.
First, we want to encourage you to include Jesus Christ explicitly in your prayers. We are instructed, "When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father in secret, to God, your Father who is in the secret place" Matthew 6:6 WEB. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, to lift up this daughter. Lord, You see her hard work and dedication, and we ask that You would bless her with the gift of receiving this award, and whatever the outcome, her accomplishments to be recognized. Help her to continue to strive for excellence in all she does, knowing that she is ultimately serving You.
We pray that this award would not just be a recognition of her hard work, but also an opportunity for her to shine her light for You, Lord. May she use this platform to glorify You and be a positive influence on her peers.
We also pray for her future, that she would continue to grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with You and man. Guide her steps and help her to make wise choices that align with Your will for her life.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your daughter, and to also use this opportunity to teach her about the importance of humility and giving all glory to God. Remind her that, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" Proverbs 16:18. Help her to understand that while awards and recognition are nice, they are temporary, and that her ultimate reward is in heaven with Jesus Christ.
