We are truly sorry to hear about the difficult situation your family is facing. We will stand with you in prayer and seek God's will for your daughter. Firstly, we commend you for taking action and moving her back home to provide a safe and supportive environment.
Let's address this situation with the truth of God's word in the World English Bible, “Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight,” Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. It is crucial to guide your daughter in trusting the Lord completely and acknowledging Him in all her decisions, especially in her relationships.
We must also address the seriousness when the man she has had a relationship with is abusive. God does not intend for anyone to be in a relationship that is harmful. Physical and emotional abuse is never acceptable. Passages regarding love and relationships in the Epistles repeatedly discuss men loving their spouses and not to treat them harshly.
When dealing with relationships, it is essential to align with biblical principles. If your daughter is having premarital sex with this abusive individual, it is important to address this as fornication and help her understand the need to repent and turn away from this sin, “But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints,” Ephesians 5:3 WEB describing fornication as sexual immorality. If she has been involved with another man since coming home, she definitely needs to come to God for grace and forgiveness.
It is also concerning that your daughter may still be in contact with this abusive individual. It is important to help her break off all communication with him. This might even mean new social media accounts, phone, and other contact information. This is definitely a situation where wise counsel is needed.
As we lift her up in prayer, “’For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,’ says Yahweh, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11 WEB. This is our prayer for your daughter, that she will experience God's peace, hope, and a future free from abuse. “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest,” Matthew 11:28.
We pray together,
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our sister and her daughter. Lord, we ask for Your protection, healing, and guidance in this situation. Help her daughter to completely cut off all contact with this abusive individual and to seek Your will for her life. Bring wise counsel and support around her. Give her peace as she goes through a time of spiritual growth and help her turn from any sin and turn toward you. Help her understand that she also must be a help meet to her future spouse. Help her seek peace with your rather than going back to sin that will destroy her. Guide her parents with Your wisdom as they support and pray for her. We pray this in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
If anything was not said in Ogurlik's request about the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ to describe the savior and the way that we have access to God then we do ask you Ogurlik and others reading this to understand that we have access to the father of heavenly lights and the forgiveness of sins and salvation only through the historical Jesus Christ taught about in the Bible. Peter describes this in Acts 4:8-12 and Paul emphasizes this in 1 Tim 2:5. To do this a person must put their trust in Jesus as the Son of God and his active work in their lives of cleansing sin and sanctification into the likeness of Christ Jesus. A person must persevere in the likeness of Christ Jesus. If this is not the believe system of Ogurlik, readers, or others, then we do ask you consider the Biblical position on this and the claims of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in thy sight O LORD our strength and our redeemer.
