Dear Lord,
TY that I have a pretty good relationship with A + M. I don't expect them to tell me everything, but I would like them to feel that they can if they want to. Mainly I want honesty between us, + for them to feel like I am not judging them; I will always love them + accept them, no matter what. I have told A this many times, + I think she knows this. I don't know M as well, but they haven't been married that long.
I'm not sure what kind of church upbringing M had. All I know is he went to Catholic church + school until his parents divorced, when he was pretty young. I believe he was confirmed in the Catholic church, but after the divorce went to his mom's Presbyterian church. I get the impression he never had much of a prayer life, + doesn't now.
A had a lot more exposure to church + was confirmed. Her dad did not attend till years after we divorced, although he had a very intense Catholic upbringing, bc his mom is very devout. He felt like it was crammed down his throat, + so resented it.
So, who knows what kind of effect these factors had on both of them at various ages. I know you can + will work everything together in your own time, + I am counting on your promises.
I'm trying to gently + lovingly witness in a way that won't cause offense. Help me discern the best way to do it.
May their hearts not be hardened + may any deceptions or false teachings that have affected them be exposed + acknowledged. May they never reach the point of having reprobate minds.
Only you know the best way to change their hearts. If one embraced you, I believe the other would follow, but I defer to you.
May all the demonic arrows being shot at them return to the evil archers. May they feel a sense of urgency to find out what the Bible teaches. May they search for books that reveal the demonstrable proofs of Jesus' divinity + the infallibility of the Bible. Just look at all the prophecies that have come true-what other religion can say the same? Not only that, but there is so much archeological proof in Israel of ancient biblical kingdoms + the characters in them, such as King David, + all those ancient biblical manuscripts, like the Dead Sea Scrolls.
I am grateful that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us, teaches us, prays for us, + intervenes in our lives. I am so thankful that righteous angels battle the wicked demons on our behalf, + protect us + our loved ones.
It's so clear your return is coming very soon, Lord. I can't bear the thought of any loved one dying in unbelief. I guess it doesn't seem real to them. Help me to continue to drop little faith seeds at opportune moments. May they penetrate deep into these precious ones' spirits, where they will take root + grow. Surely there are some dormant seeds from past years that just need the right light + nourishment to grow. Please provide it. Open their hearts + soften them; unstop their ears + tune them to your divine frequency; open their spiritual eyes.
Fill them with a restlessness to seek you. May any false teaching or any appealing deception leave them hollow with longing for your word + a relationship with you. May they realize that nothing else will satisfy their souls' hunger.
Protect them from all forms of evil; from physical harm + abuse; from spiritual harm or abuse; from disabling accidents, injuries, + disease; from premature death, esp. in unbelief; from hardened hearts; from damage to their careers, reputations, or credit; from identity theft or cyber attacks; from damage to their home or property; from damage to our relationship; etc. Please uproot any weeds choking the truth. Return good soil to the ground. Chase the vultures away.
Put strong Christians in their lives + inner circle. Send them a kingdom connection who will help lead them back to you. May they hear the good news wherever they go. Please open their hearts + fill them with your Holy Spirit. May they see evidence of your existence wherever they look, + not be able to deny it. May they realize it is their responsibility to search for the truth + verify it for themselves; this life is the only time they have to do this. May they feel the urgency to investigate instead of just accepting what unbelievers say. I know you will keep pursuing them; may they never let their hearts be hardened + may they never willfully harden them on their own.
I praise you + TY for your great goodness, mercy, + unfailing love. In your holy name, amen.
