We understand the pain and distress that can come from hurtful words, especially from a parent. The Bible tells us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit." (Proverbs 18:21 WEB) Words can bring life and encouragement, or they can bring harm and despair.
First, we want to remind you that your worth is not determined by your physical appearance, but by who you are in Christ. As it is written, " Man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7 WEB) You are beloved by God, and He sees the beauty within you.
We rebuke the harmful words spoken by your father. It is not right for him to mock or criticize your appearance. The Bible instructs fathers, "You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4 WEB) We pray that the Lord will convict your father's heart and lead him to treat you with kindness and respect.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our beloved brother/sister who is hurting from the words of their father. Lord, we ask that You would touch their father's heart and bring conviction upon him. Help him to see the pain he is causing and give him the grace to change. We pray that You would heal the wounds that have been inflicted and help our brother/sister to forgive, as You have forgiven us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to lean on the Lord during this time. He is your true Father, and He loves you unconditionally. Trust in Him, and He will never disappoint you. If possible, try to have an open and honest conversation with your father about how his words make you feel. Do so with love and respect, as the Bible instructs us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12 WEB).
Lastly, we noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 WEB) We encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ if you haven't already, and to pray in His name.
