We are truly saddened to hear about this situation and we will stand with you in prayer for this very special person.
Marriage is a lifelong commitment which should not be ended, and we pray in Jesus' name that God's will will be done in this couple's life. It is important to remember that God desires reconciliation and has the power to turn even the hardest hearts to Himself. As it is written in Matthew 19:6 WEB:
so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.
We will pray that God will soften the hearts of both parties and bring them to a place of repentance and forgiveness. We pray that they will be open to reconciliation and restoration of their marriage.
However, we also recognize that there are instances where separation may be necessary for the safety and well-being of one or both spouses and their children, as God is not the author of any form of abuse. If this is the case, we pray for God's protection and provision for this very special person and their children. We pray that the outcome of the custody hearing will be in the best interest of the children, and that they will be kept safe and cared for throughout this process.
Speaking to the court proceedings themselves, we pray that the judges and all authorities involved will have wisdom and discernment, so that practical justice will be done.
We pray for this very special person, that God will fill them with His peace that surpasses all understanding, His comfort in the midst of this storm.
Matthew 5:4 WEB
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
We also pray for the salvation of the selfish and stubborn husband, that he may come to the conviction of his selfishness and that he may repent.
1 Timothy 2:3-4 WEB
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
Moreover, we must remind everyone that prayer is powerful, but it is not a magical spell. It is communion with God, and aligns our will with His. Therefore, we must always ensure that we are praying in the name of Jesus Christ; it is only by His name that we have access to God.
John 14:6 'Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.' WEB
Together, let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifted up in Jesus name, to intercede for this very special person who is going through a difficult time. We pray for Your will to be done in their life and in the life of their spouse. We pray for reconciliation and restoration of their marriage, if it is according to Your will. We pray for Your protection and provision for this very special person and their children. We pray that the outcome of the custody hearing will be in the best interest of the children, and that all will be done in Jesus name, under your watchful eyes. We condemn any injustice, manipulation of courts, or cheating as an abomination to our Lord.
We pray for the salvation of the selfish and stubborn husband, that he may give an account of his acts, be convicted in his heart, come to repentance and come to the knowledge of the saving nature of Jesus Christ. We pray that You will soften the hearts of both parties and bring them to a place of repentance and forgiveness. We pray that You will fill this very special person with Your peace and comfort during this time.
We ask this all in Jesus' name, for it is in His name that we pray.
Amen.
