We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we're here to pray and offer guidance. Depression can be a heavy burden, but we take heart in knowing that Jesus cares for you and understands your pain. In 1 Peter 5:7 WEB, it is said: Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
Firstly, we want to acknowledge that you recognized the power of Jesus' precious blood to heal and that is wonderful. As we are told in Romans 5:9 WEB, Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God's wrath through him. This is stated again in the next chapter of Romans 6:23 WEB; and the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. When we have faith in Jesus Christ and His work at the cross, we become Children's of God and He works in our lives. This includes healing.
Depression and anxiety can be caused by spiritual, mental, emotional, or physical issues. Your prayer request helps in understanding what you are going through. Now, it's important to remember that while God can miraculously heal, He also works through doctors and medicine. There's no shame in seeking medical help, and sometimes healing comes progressively rather than instantaneously. Prayer that includes seeking God's will is in line with Matthew 26:42 WEB; He went away again a second time, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your will be done.
Although God may heal you instantly and miraculously, He can also use natural means. From what you've shared in your request you may need to gradually reduce and eventually stop needing the medication. That you mentioned health issues by family and anxiety could be a clue to start with a doctor's oversight. In our experience, God often uses natural means together with prayer and faith. Therefore, God expects us to follow-up our faith by using God-ordained means. Often, doctors are the God-ordained means of healing just as much as answered prayer is a God-ordained means. God may choose to supernaturally heal instantly, gradually, or may heal naturally through a doctor's prescribed medication and oversight. We can also pray and have the faith already expecting God will use these means. We should however provide spiritual assistance and prayer so that you don't feel discouraged because you are also taking medicine.
Now, lets pray. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for Your precious blood that heals and saves. We lift up our dear brother/sister to You, asking for Your healing touch on their body, mind, and spirit. We pray that You will guide them, give them strength to endure, and help them to make wise decisions.
We pray for their complete healing and restoration according to 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.
We pray against any spirit of depression, anxiety, or infirmity, and we command it to leave in Matthew 10:1 WEB; He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
We pray for God's perfect will to be done in this situation, and God will answer this prayer. We also pray for family members who are experiencing health issues and those in anxiety about it in 1 Timothy 2:1 WEB; I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men.
We pray for a spirit of peace and calm to rest on them, knowing that You are in control and this is another chance to glorify Christ. We may not always be prepared for the upheavals in this life, but we are assured that we have a path that will give us wisdom and strength. As we continue to pray for this issue we turn to James 4:2b and finish verse 3, Yet you don’t have, because you don’t ask. You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
We also ask that You help this brother/sister to lift up their family before You, seeking Your face and guidance in every situation in Psalm 27:8 WEB; My heart says of you, 'Seek my face.' My heart seeks your face, Yahweh.
Please understand and be prepared for God guidance on this issue. By continuing to pray, read, and study the scriptures, God can guide even through the smallest words in the Bible. If there are any verses or passages that stand out, meditate on them, just as we provide scripture for encouragement, God can do the same for you. Feel free to share any insights with us. We would love hear from you. God can show us things in His Word that we previously overlooked or didn't understand. His timing will be perfect for answering prayer. God may be working on other things that are needed.
We'll continue to pray for you, and we encourage you to keep seeking the Lord, reading His Word, and trusting in His unfailing love. Always remember the words of Psalm 30:2 WEB, Yahweh my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me. We beg that you never give up on a miraculous recovery. The family should also pray for each other and the family needs. This could be a chance to show a love for Christ Jesus and spiritual growth for you and family members.
