We stand with you in the power of Jesus' name, interceding for these hurting mothers and their children ensnared in substance abuse. This is a spiritual battle against the evil spirits of addiction, rebellion, anger, and rage, and we must fight it with prayer and the Word of God.
Firstly, we address the spiritual warfare aspect of this crisis. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, we put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. We stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around our waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted our feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, besides all these, taking up the shield of faith, with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the holy ones. Ephesians 6:12-18 WEB.
We pray, "Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come against the spirits of addiction, rebellion, anger, and rage that are destroying our community. We bind them and cast them out, and we loose the Spirit of peace, love, and a sound mind. We pray for the deliverance of these children, that they may be set free from the bondage of substance abuse. We pray for the mothers, that they may be strengthened and encouraged, and that they may find hope and help in You. We pray for the community, that the evil influences may be driven out, and that righteousness may reign. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."
We also address the practical aspects of this issue. It is clear that there are those who are profiting from the destruction of our children. This is wicked and evil, and we must stand against it. We exhort you to expose the works of darkness, as it is written, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of. But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that is revealed is light." Ephesians 5:11-13 WEB.
We encourage you to gather together with other believers and form a prayer group to continually intercede for this situation. Also, consider reaching out to local authorities and organizations that can provide practical help and support to these families. God works through His people, and we must be His hands and feet on the earth.
Lastly, we remind you that our hope is in Jesus Christ, and that He is mighty to save. As it is written, "who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen." Galatians 1:4-5 WEB.
We encourage anyone who is not saved with the assurance of eternal life to turn to Jesus Christ in prayer in the following manner:
"Father, I admit my sins have caused a separation between You and me. I humbly repent and ask Your forgiveness. I ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord of my life. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. Thank You for rising from the dead and providing a path to salvation. Thank You for hearing my prayer. I ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen"
