We understand your concern for your son Nicholas and the court matter he is facing tomorrow. Let us first stand on the promises of God, who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, WEB).
In this time of need, we must turn to Jesus Christ, our ultimate advocate. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father with our petitions. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). If you or Nicholas have not already, we encourage you both to put your trust in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for Nicholas:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking your mercy and grace upon Nicholas. Lord, you know the details of the court matter he is facing tomorrow. We ask that you guide the judge and all those involved in making decisions. We pray that the felony charges will be removed and revoked, and that the court matter will be set aside for next year, if it is according to your will.
Lord Jesus, you have promised that whoever comes to you, you will in no way throw out (John 6:37, WEB). We ask that Nicholas will draw near to you during this trial, and that you will draw near to him (James 4:8, WEB). Comfort his heart and strengthen him, so that he may face tomorrow with courage and faith.
In the meantime, we encourage Nicholas to meditate on your word, which says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
Lastly, we must remind you that God desires obedience to his laws and righteous living. If Nicholas has done wrong, he must be willing to face the consequences and repent from his actions. God's forgiveness is always available, but repentance is key to receiving it.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
