We are with you in spirit, lifting up your father's health before our Heavenly Father. It is encouraging to see that you have acknowledged the power of Jesus' name in your prayer request. The Bible tells us that "By his stripes, we are healed" Isaiah 53:5 WEB.
In the Book of James, we are encouraged to pray for one another that we may be healed. "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." James 5:14-15 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our father who is not well. We claim your healing promises over his life. We pray that You will touch his throat, alleviate the scratchiness and coughing that has been disturbing his sleep, and grant him peaceful nights.
Lord, according to your word We know that by your stripes, our father is healed. We stand on your word and ask that you will have your healing way in his life. Let his coughing disappear and his sleep be uninterrupted. Heal whatever underlying condition he has which causes his cough.
We also pray for his faith to be strengthened during this time. Help him to trust in your goodness and your power to heal. Remind him of your love for him and that you are always with him, even in the midst of his discomfort.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much. Keep trusting in the Lord, and remember that He cares for you and your family. "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7 WEB.
If your father is not born again please have him say the sinners prayer to receive Jesus as his savior. Jesus can then use the sickness to cause your father to come to faith in Christ. He can also do it if it is God's will to heal him. There are times when God uses sickness for his purpose. Be in prayer and consider this possibility in this situation. Also, if your father is a Christian, make sure that he has no unconfessed sin in his life. In James 5:16 WEB "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
