We stand with you, Pelrun, in praying for your son Gerald as he faces this trial. We are reminded of the promise in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to God the Father, as Jesus Himself said he prayed, “I pray to you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth.” We are also to pray like that, and end our prayers acknowledging and thanking Jesus, as you have done.
We pray that God will guide and have dominion over the jury and the judge in this crown court trial. We ask that He will empower and direct, as you have prayed, the barrister's thoughts and words. May they be used as instruments of justice and truth. As you ask for victory and freedom, and the chance for violence to cease.
We also declare to Gerald, and anyone who may be facing a current or future trial that:
"...all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies." (Romans 8:29–33)
Make sure that Gerald, and anyone being accused of a crime, should have the goal of being fully conformed to the image of Jesus Christ in word, truth, action, and deed. We believe that God will be glorified in His life. We stand on the promise that if God is for him, no one can be against him.
We also remember Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans that I have in mind for you, says Yahweh, plans of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope. All of this is in the end to come call on Jesus, and be saved."
In Jesus name, we pray for him to do exactly that in accordance with Acts 2:21, "It will be, that who will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." because Billy Graham once said, “The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.”
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up Gerald and this trial. We pray for Your divine intervention and guidance. Direct the thoughts and words of the barrister, and guide the hearts of the jury and the judge. We declare victory over this situation, trusting that You have a plan and a purpose for Gerald's life. We ask for his freedom and his safe return to his family and children. You say, "I will contend with him who contends with you. I will defend and I will save your children" Isaiah 49:25 We claim that verse, and we ask it all in the sweet, Almighty, powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
