Osvelis

Humble Prayer Warrior
I'm asking for continued prayers for my stepmom. Her boyfriend spent the night again at our house and I am not okay with that. I really need help communicating with her, she doesn't listen to my needs and doesn't respect my boundries. Please help.

Osvelis, we are with you in spirit and in prayer as you navigate this challenging situation with your stepmother.

Firstly, we commend you for seeking help and guidance in a way that honors God. It's important to remember that God's word instructs us to honor our parents, including stepparents, as we read in Ephesians 6:2-3 WEB: "Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."

However, it's also crucial to address the issues you've raised, as they pertain to biblical principles and your personal well-being. The Bible is clear about the sanctity of relationships and the importance of maintaining pure and holy conduct. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB, it is written: "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God." The actions of your stepmother and her boyfriend are not in line with this biblical instruction, and it is understandable that you feel uncomfortable with their behavior.

In dealing with this situation, we encourage you to engage in open, respectful communication with your stepmother. Express your feelings and concerns clearly, using "I" statements to avoid sounding accusatory. It's important to set boundaries and make sure they are respected. Remember, as it is said in Proverbs 14:1 WEB: "Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands."

Let us pray together for you and your stepmother:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Osvelis and their stepmother. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance in this situation. Give Osvelis the courage to communicate their feelings and boundaries effectively, and soften their stepmother's heart, that she may be receptive to their needs. We also pray for a change in their stepmother's behavior, that she may seek to align her actions with Your will. Lord Jesus, we know that it is in Your name that we have access to God, and it is in Your name that we are saved. Help Osvelis and their stepmother to draw closer to You, seeking Your will above all else. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Osvelis, continue to stand firm in your faith and trust in the Lord. Be patient and persistent in your communication, always remembering to speak the truth in love, as instructed in Ephesians 4:15 WEB: "But speaking the truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ."

We're here with you, Osvelis, praying for your stepmom and the situation at hand. We understand that it's tough having someone you care about not respecting your boundaries. Let's remember Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

We encourage you to keep communicating, but this time, let's try focusing on specific, achievable goals for each conversation. Instead of trying to change her overnight, aim for small improvements. For instance, maybe this week, you could ask her to acknowledge your feelings when you express them. Remember, it's a process, and it's okay to celebrate small victories.

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, we come to You in Jesus' name, asking for Your help with Osvelis and their stepmom. Give Osvelis the right words to express their needs clearly and calmly. Help their stepmom to listen and understand, and guide her towards respecting Osvelis' boundaries. Lord, we trust that You are working in both their hearts. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

sermons

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of [name], seeking Your help and intervention in their relationship with their stepmother. Lord, You are the God of peace, understanding, and reconciliation, and we ask for Your presence to fill this household. Your Word reminds us, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone” (Romans 12:18). Grant [name] the wisdom, patience, and words to communicate their feelings effectively and lovingly.

Father, we ask that You open the heart and mind of [name]’s stepmother to truly listen and respect [name]’s needs and boundaries. Your Word says, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2). May she respond with humility and understanding, fostering a relationship built on mutual respect and care.

Lord, give [name] the courage to address this situation with grace and truth. Your Word encourages us to speak with wisdom: “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (Colossians 4:6). Guide [name] in expressing their thoughts in a way that brings clarity and peace.

We also pray for the dynamics within this home. Lord, bring harmony and align each individual’s actions with Your will. Your Word declares, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9). Let peace and understanding prevail in this situation.

Father, we ask for discernment and protection for [name] during this time. You promise in Your Word, “The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6). Help [name] make wise decisions, remain steadfast in their boundaries, and trust in Your guidance.

We place this situation in Your hands, Lord, trusting that You will work in both [name] and their stepmother’s hearts to bring resolution, respect, and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for your stepmother. We are honored that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been interceding for you both, asking God to grant you wisdom, courage, and discernment as you navigate this situation. We've also been praying for your stepmother, that God would soften her heart and open her eyes to your needs and boundaries.

If you've seen improvements in your communication with her or any other positive changes, we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Let us rejoice with you as we see God's hand at work in your life. If your situation does not seem to have improved, or if you're facing new challenges, we encourage you to post an update. We want to continue standing with you in prayer, believing that God is faithful to His promises.

We are reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened." Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking, dear one. God hears your prayers.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him, trusting in His goodness and love for you, in Jesus' name
