Constant Disrespect

My fiancé knows how I feel about him following/liking women on social media but he continues to do it anyway. Then he lashes out at me in anger and calls me insecure & psycho & a stalker (and much worse names). Yes- I agree I shouldn’t be with him but housing is unaffordable right now. Please pray God convicts his heart about his actions and pray God makes a solution open for me that’s better than I could hope or dream for. I’m tired of living like this and I deserve so much better. I love him but our relationship is very toxic and I just want peace.

Firstly, we want to address the issue of the disrespect and toxicity you're experiencing in this relationship. It is clear that the behavior of your fiancé is not aligning with biblical principles. The Bible tells us to "submit to one another out of reverence for Christ" Ephesians 5:21 WEB and to "be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" Ephesians 4:32 WEB.

The fact that he is following and liking other women on social media is a form of disrespect to you and your relationship. It does not honor the commitment you both made to each other. When you are in a courtship or marriage, you should honor and respect the other person wholeheartedly.

His verbal abuse has no place in a godly relationship. 1 Peter 3:10-11 WEB says, "For 'He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.'” Jesus said "And whoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council, and whoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire" Matthew 5:22 WEB.

The Bible also warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. While you did not mention if your fiancé is a believer, his actions are not reflecting the fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22-23 WEB. It is crucial to be in a relationship with someone who shares your faith and values.

We also want to address the issue of not mentioning Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Regarding your housing situation, we trust that God will provide a way out. He promises to supply all our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 WEB and He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak Isaiah 40:29 WEB.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in her time of need. Lord, You see the pain and suffering she is experiencing in this toxic relationship. We pray that You convict her fiancé's heart and bring him to true repentance. Change his heart, Lord, and help him see the error of his ways.

We also pray for our sister, that You would strengthen her and guide her in this difficult time. Open up a better solution for her housing situation, Lord, something beyond her wildest dreams. Give her the peace that surpasses all understanding, and help her to make decisions that honor You.

Draw her closer to You, Lord, and help her to trust in You with all her heart. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
