We understand your deep longing for connection and a family of your own, and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. We are reminded of Psalm 68:6, "God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land."
Firstly, we want to commend you for asking for a spouse to marry, and not just a relationship. This shows your heart is in the right place. We also commend you for including that you are asking your request in Jesus' name. This is the only way we can be saved or come to God the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
As for a spouse, we pray that God will bring someone into your life who will love, cherish, and respect you as the Scriptures command. We pray for a spouse who will help you feel safe, valued, heard, and loved consistently, as described in Ephesians 5:28-29, "So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as Christ also does the assembly."
However, we want to remind you that ultimately, our sense of completeness and security comes from God alone. Psalm 147:3 tells us, "He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds." No human being can fill the void that only God can fill. We encourage you to continue to deepen your relationship with the Lord, trusting in Him to meet your needs.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Kensem who feels alone and longs for a spouse and family. Lord, You know the depths of their heart and the desires they have. We pray that You will bring the right person into their life, someone who will love, cherish, and respect them as You intend. Help Kensem to trust You to provide this and to prepare to be the godly spouse You want them to be.
In the meantime, Lord, help Kensem to find their completeness in You. Heal their broken heart and bind up their wounds. Help them to know You more deeply and to trust in Your love and care for them.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
