We understand your deep longing for connection and companionship, Kensem, and we are here to pray with you.
Firstly, thank you you for specifically asking for prayers in Jesus' name. There is only one mediator between God and Man, the man Christ Jesus. There is no other name that can be called upon to be saved. We are also directed to make our prayers and petitions in Jesus' name.
We are created for relationship, ultimately to glorify God and enjoy him forever. God has designed marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Many scriptures throughout the Bible emphasize the importance of intimacy within marriage.
While seeking a spouse, it's crucial to trust in God's timing and to never compromise biblical principles, for godly character is far more important that external appearances. Remember the words of 1 Peter 3:3-4 WEB: "Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing; but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious."
Moreover, 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB reminds us, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" As you seek a spouse, ensure that they share your faith and values, as this will greatly impact the dynamics of your marriage.
We must also discuss it is important not be unequally yoked with unbelievers
I know you specifically talked about consistency. I thought Romans 5:3-4 was appropriate: "We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."
In your current feelings of loneliness 1 Cor 7:32-34:
But I desire to have you to be free from cares. He who is unmarried is concerned for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; but he who is married is concerned about the things of the world, about how he may please his wife. There is also a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the worldโhow she may please her husband.
So enjoy this season, but also remember the prayer of Moses, in Psalm 90:12 WEB: "So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Kensem. We ask that you comfort them in their feelings of loneliness and provide them with a sense of belonging. Lord we were not created be alone. Adam had all that he could have ever needed, but he was alone. No creature on heaven or earth was like him. You saw that and said it is not good. That was before the fall. But now, we are in a fallen world. It is far worse for us than Adam. Reveal to us your promise to the solution for our loneliness. Lord, we ask that you guide Kensem and prepare them for marriage according to your will. Help them to trust in your timing and to remain steadfast in their faith.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to use this time to grow closer to God, knowing that he is preparing a way for you. Trust in his goodness and remain faithful to his word. Draw close to God. Shorten this time of feeling alone. God's ways are far better than we can ever imagine.
