Kensem, we are here with you in spirit, lifting your requests to our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name. We understand your deep longing for companionship and a family of your own. God has designed us for relationships, and it is natural to desire marriage and family.
Firstly, we commend you for seeking prayer specifically in Jesus' name. It is important for you to know that all of our prayers, requests, and thanksgiving are to be done through our Lord Jesus, who also looks out for our needs. The Bible states For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) and "Most certainly, I tell you, whatever you may ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you." (John 16:23 WEB).
....................................................
God knows the deepest desires of your heart, and He cares about your feelings of loneliness. We are reminded of this promise in Psalm 147:3 WEB: "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." and that "The LORD God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.'" (Genesis 2:18 WEB).
As you await God's provision, To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them if they remain even as I am. But if they don't have self-control, let them marry. For it's better to marry than to burn (1 Corinthians 7:8-9 WEB). We encourage you to use this time to grow in your relationship with the Lord, as "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33 WEB).
In your list of traits in a spouse, you desire acceptance, being valued and loved, and safety. In order to find someone who will do so, it is important to be someone willing to give the same to another person. More importantly, make sure that you see these traits in Jesus first and love God with all of your heart, not an idol but Jesus. Love consists of a willingness to give and do so whether you have much or little. When unsure, seek God's wisdom to make a choice. This is a goal of being pure not only in physical terms but also in how you think. But for those who are married, it is not I, but the Lord, who commands that the wife not leave her husband (1 Corinthians 7:10 WEB).
Join us in praying for you,Kensem:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Kensem. Lord, You know the depths of his heart and his desire for a spouse and family. We pray that You will comfort him in his loneliness and provide him with a God-fearing and loving wife. Help him to grow in Your grace and knowledge as he awaits Your perfect timing. Help Kensem to be someone willing to give as he wants to receive. Help Kensem not to lust. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
