Conflict with my son

My adult son has just started dating someone named Sophie. They met via a dating site. For approximately 3 weeks he was mentioning Sophie and talking about different dates they were going on. When he told me he wanted to bring her to meet me I was pleased. I spent a whole day tidying up the house and cleaned up my flower beds. Approximately 4 hours prior to her arrival he mentioned that Sophie is transgender. I tried so very hard to contain my reaction until I could process this. He had always dated females and never mentioned being interested in men or transgender women. This has been so hard for me to process. I am trying to be 100% supportive but as close as we've been, he was able to discern my apprehension. He said he was disappointed in me. This breaks my heart. Please pray for me to heal and for him not to be hurt by the repercussions of his other family members who will be even harder for them to understand

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this prayer request on behalf of Anonymous and their adult son who has recently started dating someone named Sophie. Lord, we ask for your guidance, understanding, and healing in this situation.

Father, we acknowledge that relationships can sometimes bring unexpected challenges and differences. We pray that you would grant wisdom and discernment to Anonymous as they navigate their feelings and thoughts about their son's relationship with Sophie. Help them to find peace and understanding in their heart, knowing that love and acceptance are essential in any relationship.

Lord, we ask for healing and reconciliation between Anonymous and their son. May their bond be strengthened, and may their communication be filled with love, respect, and understanding. We pray that their son would be able to see the genuine support and love that Anonymous has for him, even in the midst of their own struggle to process this new information.

We also lift up the other family members who may struggle to understand and accept this situation. We pray for open hearts and minds, that they may be willing to listen, learn, and grow in their understanding of transgender individuals. Help them to see beyond stereotypes and prejudices, and to embrace love and acceptance as you have taught us.

Father, we trust in your perfect timing and plan. We pray for healing and unity within this family, and we ask for your grace to abound in their lives. May they experience your peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that you are with them every step of the way.
