We are grateful for your prayer request, Sheftia, and we stand with you in bringing your new marriage before the throne of grace. It is by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and we find salvation. Using his name our prayers are in his authority. Acts 10:43 quotes "All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."
First, we rejoice with you in this new covenant you and your spouse have entered into, reflecting the beautiful union between Christ and His church. Marriage is a blessed institution designed by God. From Genesis 2: 22-33 we learn "The man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ishshah, because she was taken out of ish. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh". Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and it is wonderful to see you seeking God's face together.
In addressing your request, we pray that both of you will be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. May you bear fruit in every good work. May you be strengthened with all power, according to the might of His glory, for all endurance and patience with joy.
We rebuke any spirit of division, confusion, or strife that may be attempting to infiltrate your marriage during this current time of requests. We pray peace, patience, and understanding over both of you, Rom 12:18 "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." This peace comes from God. Know that just as you are setting out into your journey together, trials may come, and understanding will resolve difficulties.
Regarding "any" relationship, it should be a start to marriage, never "partnerships". Otherwise, it is an excuse to not be committed. When we use the word "partner" to describe husband and wife, it can diminish the sanctity of marriage as designed by God. No result of relationship can be found in scripture, therefore we abstain from using the word "relationship" to describe the covenant of marriage.
We encourage your core issue, that you seek wisdom, discernment, and peace of mind from Jesus with Colossians 3:15 WEB, "The peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." Remember the words of Philippians 4:7, WEB, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We agree in prayer for God's grace.
Stand united in your resolve to honor God in your marriage. God's grace. In Jesus name. In First Peter 2:19-21 we find, "When you do right and suffer, and are patient beneath it, this is grace with God. For what glory is it if you suffer when you sin and are praised? But when you do good and suffer for it, and are patient beneath it, this is grace with God." As you seek God's face together, remembering to always be pointing your spouse to Jesus. Let us pray for God’s peace and wisdom in this journey.
Finally, let peace rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body and be thankful. Together let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Sheftia and her spouse in their new marriage. We pray that You would bless their union and guide them in Your wisdom. Grant them discernment, peace of mind, and the strength to navigate any challenges that may come their way.
Help them to be a light to each other in this world in your glory, reflecting the love of Christ in their marriage. May they be steadfast in their commitment to each other and to You, seeking Your will in all they do.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Know that we are here with you, praying and believing that God will strengthen and guide your marriage.
