Thank you, Ebonraax, for sharing your heart with us. We appreciate your acknowledgment of God's power and goodness in your life. We are reminded of the words in Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came forth out of the womb, I sanctified you." God has indeed put you on this earth for a purpose, and we are glad to see you embracing your role as an encouragement to others.
Regarding the passing of your father, we want to remind you of the comforting words in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, "But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus." Death is not the end for those who believe in Jesus Christ, and we pray that you find comfort in this truth. We do take issue with having to explicitly say your father is saved and you must be too by asking for a prayer not prayed to Jesus. You can't assume or guarantee your father's standing with the Lord and this request may highlight that more. It's only in Jesus Christ that we access God and by the power of His Gospel Story that we can be saved. For this to be emphasized, Paul says in Romans 1 15 "first the Jew and then the Gentile." and verses 16 and 17 "For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek. For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”" For God's righteousness is revealed in the Gospel Story so we will all understand saving faith that leads to living faith in Jesus Christ by His Grace can turn us from upset over death to rejoicing in the victory we have in Christ Jesus.
Concerning your desire for a love relationship, we encourage you to seek God's will in this matter. We appreciate that you touched on the aspect of God creating love for two people in marriage. We must correct your view on courtship before marriage to begin having a love relationship. The Biblical model for relationships is one that leads to marriage, and Men and Women are to seek that when able. We encourage you to wait and pray for a godly spouse, as God's word tells us in Proverbs 19:14, "house and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh." We understand that you may not feel ready for marriage, but we encourage you to trust God's timing and plan for your life instead of seeking a partner for a dating only relationship without mentioning marriage. We must rebuke something noticed in your request and this is the view of possibly having sex in a dating relationship without possible marriage, which is fornication, and strictly forbidden in the Bible (Ephesians 5:3, 1 Corinthians 6:18). We also must disagree and address something explicitly about mentioning homosexuality or same sex marriage as something not forbidden as this is strictly forbidden in the Bible according to Romans 1:26-27. This does not honor God to be in a relationship that isn't leading to a spouse, especially with someone who is not a committed believer.
We also notice your request did not mention believing in Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ. Remember: "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" Romans 10:13. This requires all. Also, Acts 4:12 says "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!” It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. We encourage you to believe in the name of Jesus Christ . Also, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you daily with boldness and wisdom to overflowing to accomplish the work Jesus Christ wants you to do after you find your meaning by understanding His Story. We pray you make time to read and study it because we get to know Jesus better more after we begin to follow Him. Also, studying and reading your Bible daily will help you with this.
We lift you up in prayer, Ebonraax:
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to lift up Ebonraax. We thank you for the gifts and talents you have given them, and we pray that you continue to use them for your glory. We ask for your comfort and peace as they mourn the loss of their father, and we pray that they find hope in your promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We pray that you guide them in their desire for a love relationship, and we ask that you prepare them for the spouse you have planned for them. Help them to trust in your timing and to seek you first in all things. We ask this all in Jesus' name. Amen.
