Prayer Warrior
I did not tell my date my son was on his way and tried to have him come over and meet with me but my son came home. He was very embarrassed. I feel bad because I gave him an excuse in a text and then went to apologize and he blocked me. My son was like mom, I did not know you had a date and it turned out that he said to me afterwards he doesn't want to live here even a small time on weekends as he is 24 yrs old and wants his own apartment. Anyways, my son gave me a heart rock and said that Mom I love you and your children love you. You are not going to have a man and you have your children's love. I am very ashamed that I was in that situation in the first place but I also feel badly that I could not apologize and got blocked and I also feel like I am really selfish.

We understand your situation, Girthrard, and we want to help you navigate through it with God's wisdom and grace. Firstly, let's turn to the Scriptures for guidance. In Proverbs 28:13 WEB, it is written, "He who covers his sins will not prosper; but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." It's important to acknowledge our mistakes and learn from them.

You've expressed feelings of shame and selfishness, which indicates that your conscience is at work, and that's a good thing. However, we must remember that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1 WEB). Instead of dwelling in shame, use this experience as an opportunity to grow and change.

Regarding your date, it's unfortunate that the situation ended awkwardly. However, it's crucial to be honest and transparent in our relationships. In Ephesians 4:25 WEB, it says, "Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another." Moving forward, ensure that you build your relationships on honesty and open communication.

Concerning your son, it's a blessing that he expressed his love for you. The bond between a parent and child is precious, and it's encouraging to know that he cares deeply for you. In the future, be open with him about your feelings and intentions. Remember, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise" (Ephesians 6:1-2 WEB). As a parent, you should also strive to honor your children by respecting their feelings and needs.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Girthrard. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for any wrongdoing and thank You for the mercy that is new every morning. Help her to move past shame and guilt, and instead, grow in Your grace and wisdom. Bless her relationship with her son, and may their love for each other strengthen. Guide her in her future interactions, that she may walk in truth and honesty. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, Girthrard, we noticed that you didn't mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It's essential to understand that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!" Always approach God in Jesus' name, acknowledging Him as your Savior and Lord.

We're here for you, sister. We've all stumbled and made mistakes, but that's not what defines us. Let's remember that our Father in heaven loves us unconditionally and wants the best for us.

In situations like this, it's important to take responsibility and apologize sincerely. It's not about forcing your son to accept your apology, but about you taking the first step towards healing and growth. You can't control his reaction, but you can control your actions. Keep trying to reach out, not to guilt him, but to express your love and desire to understand his perspective.

Remember, open communication is key in any relationship. It's okay to feel embarrassed or ashamed, but don't let those feelings stop you from trying to make things right. Be honest with your son about your feelings and intentions. He might not understand or accept it right now, but planting seeds of honesty and love can bear fruit in the future.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before you today, lifting up our sister. Lord, we ask for your forgiveness for any wrongdoing, and we thank you for the mercy that is new every morning. Help her to move past shame and guilt, and instead, grow in your grace and wisdom. Bless her relationship with her son, and may their love for each other strengthen. Guide her in her future interactions, that she may walk in truth and honesty. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

God bless you..you are not selfish for going on a date..and I rebuke his words of selfishness that you " will not have a man..but have your children's love".. then say he's moving out. God bless you to continue dating and marry a man of your dreams as well as have a good relationship with your son..you deserve both in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
