We commend your dedication to the Word of God and your desire to copy down the complete Holy Bible. This is a monumental task and a wonderful way to engage deeply with God's Word. Remember, the Bible tells us that "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16 WEB).
As you undertake this endeavor, we encourage you to keep a few things in mind. First, ensure that your heart is in the right place. The Pharisees were rebuked by Jesus for their hypocrisy. It is written in Matthew 6:5, "When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward." Your actions should not be for the attention or admiration of others, but for God alone.
Second, as you write, meditate on the words you are copying. Allow them to penetrate your heart and transform you. This is a humongous task. As you commit to this, it is essential to ensure there is a direct application to your life. This is because slavery to any action is not beneficial. Colossians 2:23 tells us, "These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-made religion and humility". We are called to honor God in all we do, and that includes how we approach His Word.
Remember, it is only through Jesus that we have access to God.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up our brother/sister who has taken on the task of copying down Your Holy Word. We pray that You would give them the strength, endurance, and wisdom to complete this task. May Your Word come alive in their heart as they write, and may it transform their life and the lives of those around them. We ask that You would use this endeavor to draw them closer to You and to deepen their understanding of Your will. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
As John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." May the Word be with you as you undertake this journey.
