Was the Word that came to me from God last night. But, instead of speaking what God had commanded, right away, I began to think of ways that I could still pray for Florida, without actually praying for the people. I told myself, I can pray for the land using the “cistern” parable or I can pray for them, indirectly, by praying for “His Name’s Sake.” There was just one problem, none of this is what God had told me to do. He told me “COMPLETE THE PROPHECY.” BUT GOD, always has a way of confirming His instructions: The first thing I heard this morning, when I turned on the television, was Dr. Stanley asking the question: “How long does it take you from the time God tells you to do something until the time you do it?”
Jesus often used metaphors, parables to get His point across, in ways that we could understand them. The little dog in this simile represents the “sinner;” those who had not called on His name. Jesus’ mission was to bring blessing and healing to His people, “Christians.” Yet, because this Gentile woman acknowledged Him, and was persistent in seeking His face, and confessed before Him that, in deed, she was an undeserving sinner, Jesus blessed her with the crumbs from His table. A table that He had prepared for His people . . . for even the crumbs consist of the same “blessed ingredients” as does the loaf: because the crumbs come from the loaf. Amen.
I was afraid that this people would think I was calling them dogs: yet, even if that were the case, better to be called a little dog, rather than be called condemned.
Nevertheless, since you have persisted in prophecy, complete the prophecy like this . . . for we must not prophesy in part.
Matthew 10:27 "What I tell you in darkness you must speak in the daylight, and what is whispered in your ear you must shout from the housetops.”
Matthew 15:22-28
22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So, his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
(The same healing applies to our land)
Commentary: Doubtless, some may say I use many enticing words: BUT GOD, knows the heart. He knows, it’s because I am so enthralled by His Word and His ways, that I only want everyone else, by seeking His face, through His Word, to come to know Him as well. Certainly, in my fervor, I have made some mistakes in presentation, but again, God knows the heart.
