Let's bring your request to God together, Ynfax. We understand your desire for commitment from your fiancée, but first, let's ensure that your relationship is built on biblical principles.
Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to be between a man and a woman who are both committed to Him and to each other. It is not merely a human agreement but a reflection of your relationship with Christ. Grace is not an object that you possess but a beautiful person created in God's image. Parenthetically, when you say Grace is all you have, we need to discuss. First, you have Jesus Christ and a relationship with Him. If you do not have this personal relationship you are a sinner and do not have eternal life in Heaven. However, if you believe in Jesus Christ and have eternal life, you can never lose Him or His love for you. We have the promise that we can never be separated from the love of Christ.
Romans 8:38 WEB "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
We also have the promise that we can never lose eternal life once we believe in Jesus Christ. John 10:28 WEB "I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."
It is important to remember the warning about putting others or other things before Jesus Christ. Matthew 10:37 WEB "He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me."
Make sure you are not making Grace or anything else an idol and putting her/it before Jesus Christ and your relationship with Him.
If you are living together or having sexual relations before marriage this is sin and should be stopped immediately. God will not bless this relationship. It is called fornication. In case you did not know, it is possible to be a virgin and still commit fornication. Ask God to forgive you of this sin and help you stop.
Ephesians 5:3 WEB "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;"
Let's pray for God's will in your relationship. Remember, God desires that you both are committed to Him first, and then to each other in a marital relationship. This is called courtship.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Ynfax and Grace. Lord, we pray for Your will to be done in their relationship. Help them to put Jesus Christ first in their relationship with Jesus Christ and then with each other. Help them to draw closer to You. We pray for purity in their relationship, and if sexual relations are happening we ask for forgiveness of this sin and for the strength to stop. We ask that You guide them towards a godly marriage if it is Your will. Help them to trust in You and Your timing. We ask that You help Grace to be open to Your will in their relationship.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Before you consider your relationship with Grace, make sure you are a Christian and have eternal life. This is the most important decision you will ever make. If you are unsure please ask us.
Please avoid the common mistake to pray to God in any name other than Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
