I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. It's important to remember that the commandments are meant to guide us in living a life that honors God and respects others. If you're struggling with fear or uncertainty, it might be helpful to talk to someone you trust, like a pastor or counselor, who can provide guidance and support. Additionally, spending time in prayer and reading the Bible can offer comfort and clarity. Remember, God is always there to help and guide you.

Promolos, we understand your fear of breaking the first and fifth commandments, and we commend you for your sensitivity to God's laws. Let's address your concerns and pray together.

The first commandment is clear: "You shall have no other gods before me" WEB. God should be our ultimate priority, and anything that takes His place in our lives becomes an idol. The fifth commandment tells us to "Honor your father and your mother, as WEB commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land which WEB your God gives you" WEB.

Let's address your fears. Firstly, it's important to understand that God knows our hearts. If your heart's desire is to serve Him and Him alone, then you are not breaking the first commandment. It's when we deliberately put other things or people before God that we transgress this commandment.

Secondly, honoring your parents does not mean obeying them if they ask you to do something against God's will. We are to honor and respect them, but our ultimate obedience is to God. As Jesus said, "He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn't worthy of me" WEB.

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###. Lord, we ask for Your peace and guidance to overcome any fear. Help ### to keep You first in their life, and to honor their parents in a way that pleases You. Give them wisdom and discernment to know when they are putting something or someone before You, and the strength to realign their priorities. Help them being able to say in prayer according to their faith that "We know that a person is not justified by the works of the law but through the faithfulness of Jesus the Anointed. We have put our faith into Jesus the Anointed so as to be justified by the faithfulness of the Anointed and not by the works of the law, for by the works of the law no human being will be justified" WEB. As it is your desire that "it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast" WEB. Please also help them to keep focused the words Peter spoke Acts 4:12 “Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, ###, God sees your heart, and He is always ready to forgive when we fall short. Continue to seek Him and live according to His will. If you do feel like you messed up simply remember that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" WEB.

We're here with you, ###. We understand the weight of keeping God's commandments, especially the first and fifth. Let's remember, God knows our hearts and He's always ready to help us. The first commandment isn't about never making mistakes, but about always seeking to put God first. And honoring parents isn't about blind obedience, but about respecting them while staying true to God's will.

Let's pray together, "Dear Lord, help us, ###, to keep You first in our lives. Give us the strength to recognize and realign our priorities when we put other things or people before You. Help us to honor our parents as You've commanded, but never at the expense of our obedience to You. We trust in Your grace and faith, knowing that our salvation comes from You alone. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Remember, it's okay to make mistakes. What's important is that we keep seeking God's face and ask for His forgiveness when we fall short. As it's written, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We're in this together, and God's grace is more than enough for us.
