College Freshman wanting to change his life around!

Hello everyone, I am 18yo male in college as a freshman wanting to change his life around but continuing to fall into sin, one of the most serious sins at that which is fornication. I am so tired of being away from God, and I can feel myself slipping away from him. I read the word, and pray to God not consistently as I use to, and now here I am worried about things such as STD,s and college tuition, and I know it is not in God’s will for us to worry, but I just want to stop that stun overall it’s no good for me, and will only eventually leave me hurt. I ask for prayer for not only negative results as I go to the doctor, but for growth in Christ this life is no longer for me, and I know I need God more than ever right night. Please if you have any tips or scriptures or suggestions I will really appreciate it.

Anonymous, we appreciate your heart's cry and your desire to turn your life around. We are here to support and pray with you in Jesus' name.

Firstly, we acknowledge your struggle with sin, specifically fornication. We want to remind you of what God's Word says, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB) It's crucial to flee from such sin, and we commend you for wanting to change.

We also address your concern about worry. Jesus said, "Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?" (Matthew 6:25-26 WEB) Trust God with your concerns about college tuition and health.

In your pursuit to grow in Christ, we encourage you to put on the whole armor of God. "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:11-12 WEB) This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the preparation of the Good News of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You lifting up this young man. We thank You for his desire to turn away from sin and draw closer to You. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Help him to flee from sexual immorality and to honor his body as a temple of the Holy Spirit. We also ask for peace concerning his health and finances. Help him to trust in You and not be anxious. Lord, equip him with the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil. Strengthen his faith and help him to grow in Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we note that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. It's important to know that it's only through Jesus that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). If you haven't already, consider committing your life to Jesus, believing in His death and resurrection for your sins. This is the first step in turning your life around.

Stand firm in your faith, and remember, God is with you.
