We join with you, Sarah, in lifting up these concerns to our Heavenly Father, trusting in His providence and care for all people, especially during times of natural distress and personal illness. Let us come boldly before the throne of grace.
Firstly, we pray for all those affected by the harsh cold and freezing weather. We remember the words of Psalm 107:28-29 WEB Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress. He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.
Heavenly Father, we ask that Youwatch over those experiencing these harsh conditions. Provide them with warmth, shelter, and comfort. Prevent any harm from the freezing weather, including damage to homes and infrastructure. Prevent any water pipes from freezing or breaking, as this would be a hardship to many. Lord, Youcommand even the winds and the waves, so we ask that Youcalm the storms and mitigate the severity of the snow. Bring warmth to melt the snow and alleviate the frigid temperatures.
Next, we lift up all those affected by the wildfires in California. We remember the words of Psalm 46:1 WEB God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Lord, we ask for Your protection and provision for all those in the path of these wildfires. Guide the firefighters and emergency responders, giving them strength, wisdom, and courage. Comfort those who have lost homes and possessions, and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Bring an end to these fires, Lord, and send rain to quench the flames.
Lastly, we pray for Sarah's brother, who is currently battling the flu. We remember the words of James 5:14-15 WEB Is any man sick among you Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Heavenly Father, we ask for Your healing touch upon Sarah's brother. Comfort him in his illness, and restore his health according to Your will. Give him the strength to endure, and surround him with Your love and peace. Give him strengthened faith in the name of Jesus. Guide the doctors and medical professionals treating him, and let Your will be done in his life.
We praise You, Father, for You are good and Your mercy endures forever. You are faithful and your lovingkindness deserves our praise and thanksgiving. We thank You for all You do for us, and we ask these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and the only way to access God. Amen.
Sarah, remember that our Lord is sovereign over all things, and He promises to work all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Continue to trust in Him, and know that we are standing with you in prayer and faith.
Be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:28 WEB We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Remember the faith of the centurion, who believed that just the word of Jesus could heal his servant. So it was done to him. Jesus said: Go your way; and as you have believed, be it done to you. (Matthew 8:13 WEB)
Continue to believe that our Lord is working in these situations, and that His will is being done. Trust in His goodness and His faithfulness. And remember: Keep on asking, and it will be given you. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened (Matthew 7:7-8 WEB).
Let us always be thankful to God for all he does and has done and will do on our behalf.
