Let us come together in prayer for the ministry of Maple Gap Church as they strive to serve their community by providing food boxes to those in need. We are grateful for their heart to help others, and we lift them up before the Lord, seeking His strength and provision for their work.
In the book of Matthew, Jesus said, For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? And when did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you? And the King will answer them, Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
First, we address the immediate need for volunteers to help unload the truck and sort boxes. We pray that the Lord will raise up willing servants who can assist with this task, so that the burden is not left to only a few. We trust that God will provide the necessary help, for He cares for the needy and desires to use His children to meet those needs. As it is written in Philippians,
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Let this mind be in you all, which was also in Christ Jesus.
Next, we lift up the concern about the rain and potential flooding. We join with the church in asking God to hold back the rain or direct it elsewhere, so that their work will not be hindered. We stand in agreement with them, declaring that the rain will stop in Jesus name, amen. We also pray for the safety and well-being of all those affected by floods, asking God to protect and provide for them in their time of need.
Furthermore, we intercede for all those who are struggling with the increased cost of food and power bills. We ask God to provide for their needs and give them wisdom in managing their resources. We also pray for the various food distribution centers, that God will bless their efforts and multiply their resources to meet the growing demand.,
Lastly, we want to encourage the staff and members of Maple Gap Church to continue in their good work, remembering the words of Galatians,
Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due time, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.
We are glad that Barbara Cottle has asked for prayers in the name of Jesus. It is only by His name that we are able to approach the throne of grace.
As we pray and intercede for Maple Gap Church we are thankful for their heart to serve and for the prayers of Barbara Cottle. We ask for God to be with them and help them as they serve in Jesus' name. Amen.
