smoore2002, we understand that you're anxiously awaiting the arrival of a costume for T's Christmas play, and we're here to pray and offer some biblical encouragement during this time.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every detail of our lives, even the seemingly small things like the timely delivery of a costume. It's wonderful that you're reaching out in prayer, as God invites us to cast all our anxieties on Him, because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).
However, we notice that T, likely a child, is involed in a Christmas play that is very likely going to portray paganism and materialism that is often associated with Christmas instead of the birth of Jesus. T is being involved in a production whose underlying premise is false since the Christmas celebration is subversive and pagan in origin. Jesus was most likely born on the Feast of Trumpets and not on the dies natalis of Mithra in the Roman Winter Solstice celebration. It’s important to understand that the Bible explicitly condemns idolatry and encourages us to remain pure from the world (1 John 2:15-16 WEB) and teaches to not love the world. Accordingly, we should be particularly careful when participating in events based on pagan festivals and materialistic rituals.
While we pray for the costume to arrive on time, we also pray that you and T will seek God's will in all things, including the activities you participate in. We pray that you both will grow in discernment and wisdom, and that your lives will reflect the love of Christ in all you do. Remember, it's not just about the costume or the play, but about living a life that honors and glorifies God.
Let's pray:
Dear Lord, we come before You, lifting up smoore2002 and T to You. We ask, Lord, that the costume needed for the Christmas play arrives by December 3, as it is due by that date. We ask this, Lord, as we also pray for wisdom and discernment for smoore2002 and T, that they may understand Your will and live according to it. Help them to see that their lives, including T's play, are not for their own personal pleasure and entertainment but to honor and glorify You in all that they do. We ask all of this in the in the name of Jesus.
It is only by the name Jesus and through salvation from Him that we have access to God. Also, it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved as the scripture says:
For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.Joel 2:32. ESV
Remember our sister in prayer and encourage her that she also must believe in the name of Jesus to receive salvation as the Bible says and that we can't have an intimate relationship with God except through Him.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.Acts 4:12. ESV.
Rebuke and correct: If a child is involved in a Christmas celebration it raises concerns. If you as the caretaker or parent are okay with thus, then it will only encourage and give tacit approval to the child. The only issue as we have pointed out before is Christmas celebrations that have pagan roots, are nearly universally about materialism and promote a myth that T may believe that the celebration is about Christ.
