We understand that this Christmas season is particularly challenging for you and your child as you navigate through the divorce process. We want you to know right off the bat that the only way to approach God is In Jesus' Name (IJN) and it is the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is good that you are still honoring the Lord by abiding by biblical principles such as chaste and virtous living and not wanting a family led unrighteously in dirty and unrighteous ways. It is commendable that you are seeking the Lord's will and desire a healthier situation for your child. God does not want anyone to suffer, and He cares deeply for the well-being of your family just like the woman who came before Moses because her husband was going to divorce her. It was for this reason that Jesus explained the original intention of marriage (Deuteronomy 24:1-4). Even in difficult circumstances such as Joseph who had the right to divorce Mary (Matthew 1:19-21); the Lord understands divorce and can work out a healthier situation (Jeremiah 29:11-13). The Lord also specifically singled out children to show they have a special guardian angel and in hopes none would even desire a divorce due these ramifications on them (Matthew 18:6, 10; Malachi 2:16).
While God values the sanctity of marriage, He also understands that there can be reasons for divorce as stated in Malachi that God hates divorce, but where there is hardness of heart allows it in Matthew 5:31-32. In such cases, He wants to help and heal those who are going through it and provide clear instructions that the innocent party may remarry a Christian Believer (1 Corinthians 7:15, 39; Romans 7:3). It is crucial to stay chaste and virtuous during this period and not before or outside marriage be involved sexually involved for it is fornication or possibly adultery as already mentioned (Mark 10:11-12; 1 Corinthians 10:8-12; Romans 7:2-3). Moreover, it is clear throughouut scripture that same sex marriage or relationships are forbidden, immoral, and called homosexuality (Jude 1:5-8; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11) and the passage in Leviticus 18:22 states that it is an abomination to God. While in this process, do not look for a partner, but rather look for a spouse in a Godly marriage.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this family during this challenging time. Lord, we know that Your heart is for healing and restoration, and we pray that You would guide them through this difficult process. We already thank you that this family has decided to honor and follow your Holy Word in all matters even this one in this present time.
Father, we ask that You would provide comfort and strength to both of them, especially to the child. Help them to draw nearer to You during this season, and to find hope for a heathier situation.
Guide all involved to better know You personally and your son Jesus Christ if that is not already known. Give them the strength to endure the challenges, patience and understanding in the time of grief and trials. We ask that you would guide Anonymous in this process to a spouse that is chosen by you. We ask in the struggle that the faith of each family member only grows through the challenges ahead. We ask that you protect their hearts from anything that is against or not your will through this process. We thank you that you take notice and possibly rewarded Anonymous for abiding by your Holy Word alone.
We pray Lord Jesus that you would raise up counselors, a support system and godly influences, and wither away ungodly influences in their lives at this time around them to help support and grow their faith and allow them to move forward.
We pray that those who are currently being released will be comforted, cared for, guided and loved by You personally during this transition. We pray that You raise up godly examples in their life of real marriages and bless their lives with Godly mountain top marriage experiences that last a life-time. Finally we pray protection and all the best for each of them.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
In addition, consider the words of Isaiah 41:10, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." God is with you and your child during this time, and He will guide you both through this challenging season. Lean on Him for strength and comfort. IJN
