Friends, we have received news of arrests of Christians in Eritrea. Our sources report 21 believers were arrested in the Mai Chehot residential area of Asmara - Eritrea's capitol over the weekend.
Unfortunately, at this time, we don't have any more details about the reason for the arrests, where the Christians were taken nor the circumstances these believers may be facing right now.
Amnesty International "has documented poor prison conditions in Eritrea, in some cases ammounting to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment. Prisons in Eritrea are generally overcrowded, with inaqequate water and sanitfaction facilities and providing poor quality food and drinking water."
Pray the Lord's presence is tangible among the believers and that they are given courage and wisdom.
Pray the Holy Spirit gives the believers the words to speak (Luke 12.12)as they interact with authorities and courage, as they likely face interrogation.
Pray for grace for the loved ones of those arrested, as they face uncertainity and concern over their imprisoned family members.
Pray for the Lord's intervention in Eritrea and that full religious freedom will be implemented.
Thanks so much for praying God bless.
