We understand your concerns for your child as they embark on their second year of college. Let's bring this situation before the Lord, seeking His guidance and grace.
Firstly, let's remember the words of Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), "‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,’ says Yahweh, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.’" God has a purpose and a plan for your child's life, and we can trust in that.
However, we want to gently remind you that the power of prayer is activated through the name of Jesus Christ. It's only through Him that we have access to God's throne of grace. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’" So, let's ensure we approach God in Jesus' name.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this precious child to You. Lord, as they begin their second year of college, we ask for Your grace and mercy upon them. Guide them in their studies, help them to manage their time wisely between their job and schoolwork, and grant them the ability to focus and be structured.
We pray that they will not be overwhelmed but will find peace and joy in their new living space and responsibilities. We ask for improvement in their grades and for them to build healthy, godly relationships with those around them.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray that they will draw close to You during this time. Help them to seek Your face daily and to walk in Your ways. May this year be a year of spiritual growth and deepening relationship with You.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying for your child, trusting that God is at work in their life. Also, encourage them to seek God's will in all they do, as expressed in Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
