DO YOU BELIEVE?
"Believe in the LORD Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household." Acts 16:31

Do you believe in marriage restoration? If you are alone or at a place where you can say it out loud, say what you believe about your marriage. I wish you and I were in a huge auditorium where we could hear hundreds or thousands of others declare, "I believe God will heal my marriage."

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:22

Why do you believe in your marriage being restored? Hopefully, you are not confident of your marriage healing because of any ministry or person, but because of what the Word says about marriage and what God has been speaking to your heart. One day when I was crying out for the Lord to speak and confirm to my heart about marriage restoration, He gave me many special scriptures about the future of my marriage, who my husband was to be in Christ and promises for my children. I now still believe, wait and stand on newer promises that I have received in the past 20 plus years regarding our grown children and grandchildren.

"Blessed is she who has believed that what the LORD has said to her will be accomplished!" Luke 1:45

I will never forget when I was like you, up and down questioning my stand because of my family, church friends and the people around me being negative. But God, gave me one faithful prayer warrior, who prayed for me. When I would get discouraged, she literally would open up her Bible and start flipping the pages and tell me what the Word said and she said to me, "You must believe and walk in faith. That is what a Christian must do their whole life." What a profound statement Vera made to me back twenty-seven years ago.

The Nelson's Three-In-One Bible Reference Companion states the meaning of "believe" is: to accept trustfully; to have faith.

I pray that you will be challenged to make time to personally look up in a concordance all the scriptures with the word "believe" in them. Now that will increase your faith and you will be able to believe in what you cannot see at this time in your marriage restoration.

How are you doing in believing and standing for your marriage? Will you believe regardless of what you hear or see through your natural eye? Will you believe what the Lord says in His Word? Will you listen to His soft voice as He speaks hope of restoring your marriage?

I can remember clearly how the Lord was speaking to my heart that He wanted me to give Bob another chance to restore our marriage before our divorce. But I allowed Bob's actions, his words and his hardness of heart to discourage and defeat me to the point that I developed a hardness of heart myself. I looked at all the circumstances, took surveys with others and filed for divorce due to Bob's unfaithfulness and my own unbelief!

I pray that on this Lord's Day your heart's cry to the Lord is to ask forgiveness for the doubt and unbelief that you may be battling every week. I stopped listening and believing in what the Lord had spoken to my heart. I allowed doubt, unbelief and lack of faith to misdirect my footsteps in the opposite direction that my Lord had spoken to me to do. Where are you this Sunday? Are you on a detour road? Get off it today!

Many standers that we see who stop standing end up not staying close to the Lord, but fall into sin with someone else like their spouse is doing. They were tempted, blinded and deceived by the enemy because of their unbelief and lack of faith. That is one of my burden's every day. Recently, a stander shared a dream that her husband had told her about before he left home. It was showing the stander that God was speaking to him about them serving the Lord due to their marriage restoration. Yes, the husband left, but God has already shown His plan to the stander. As I tell you, journal these nuggets of gold from God down forever. Now the enemy will try to steal the nugget of gold that she received. What has the Lord spoken to your heart? Thank the Lord that He is moving on the other side of the mountain and that your miracle is going to happen. Now you be faithful in prayer, read God's Word every day and have a deep personal relationship with the Holy Spirit every day. Also, be faithful to pray at least one to two scriptures with your spouse's name in them daily as God's Word will not return void.

As I read the Bible, I do not see the men and women of God going back again and again to the Lord saying, "Would you speak to me one more time, tell me again, that you really want me to build this ark or take the Israelites to the promised land or build the Jerusalem wall or go and share the good news that Jesus Christ is alive."

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. "Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering." Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him." The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, "I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith...Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that very hour. Matthew 8:5-10,13

Will you listen, believe, and start doing what the Lord has spoken to your heart to do? Yes, you may have to go through many steps of restoration, but the Lord wants to use you every day to take one brick at a time, rebuilding your home and proclaiming that divorce is not the solution to anyone's marriage problems and that you are rebuilding your home on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. God wants you to stop doubting and believe in His mighty power and not in man's words! It is your choice!

You have a choice to believe or not to believe. What have you decided to do? Whom do you choose to believe; the Lord or the enemy? If the Lord were to walk into your home and tell you His entire plan for your life and marriage, would you follow Him? He wants each of us to trust and follow Him one step and one day at a time.

How many times a week do you battle doubt and unbelief coming against you in believing that your marriage is "not" going to be restored? How many times do you doubt that your spouse will ever change or accept Jesus Christ as Savior? How many times a week do you cry out to your Lord, asking if you are following Him on the right road headed to marriage restoration as you go through so many trials with your spouse? Are you thinking, "It looks so hopeless in the natural?" STOP DOUBTING!

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:35

Every time doubt, fear, despair or hopelessness comes into your thoughts or your mind, remember that you are fighting for your spouse, for your children and for future generations of marriages. Will you pray that all marriages will be healthier and stronger in the Lord? Pray that God will stomp out divorce in the United States and around the world. The difference is going to be made by one family member at a time, one church at a time, not giving into divorce, but standing up for the sanctity and permanence of marriage. Yes, your family, friends and coworkers may not understand your sacrifice, but did everyone believe what Noah, Moses, Abraham, Deborah, Nehemiah, Joseph, Mary or Paul were doing during their assignment?

Believe in the power of your Lord Jesus Christ. Believe that He loves you and your family more than you do. He will turn all your bad circumstances around to good, if you will just walk in faith and believe!

"But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" Mark 9:22-24

Lord, I pray that You will help me to believe and not doubt. Lord, increase my faith and remove any lack of faith, unbelief, or fear that is coming against me. Thank You that You are in control of every one of my circumstances. Lord, I know that Your purpose will prevail in Your timing if I will only stand firm. Lord, speak to my husband/wife who has walked away from loving me and our children and help them to want to take back the responsibility of being a husband/wife and father/mother. May You speak so loudly today, to start changing their life completely turning their heart to You and back to us, to our marriage and removing all their sins, addictions and temptations. Lord may many prodigals' hearts and lives be transformed this Lord's Day around the world. I do believe in Your mighty power and believe nothing is too hard for You to do in my marriage. In Jesus mighty Name I pray. Amen.

Have a blessed Lord's Day,
