We understand that you have been fasting and praying diligently for years, seeking another chance at something you regret not taking. While we empathize with your desires, we want to encourage you to align your prayers with God's will. It's crucial to remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB).
Firstly, we notice that your prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is also only by His name that we can be saved (John 14:6). We encourage you to come back to us with a prayer request that aligns with God's will and is requested in Jesus' name.
We also want to remind you that God's will may not always align with our desires. In fact, the Bible teaches us to pray for God's will to be done, as Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:42, WEB). Sometimes, God's will involves moving forward, not looking back. As it is written in Luke 9:62 (WEB), "But Jesus said to him, 'No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for God's Kingdom.'"
Instead of dwelling on past regrets, we encourage you to seek God's direction for your future. Trust that He has a plan and purpose for you (Jeremiah 29:11). In the words of Philippians 3:13-14 (WEB), "Brothers, I don't regard myself as yet having laid hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your will for their life. We pray that You grant them peace about their past and wisdom for their future. Help them to trust in Your timing and Your plan. Give them the strength to move forward, not looking back, but pressing on toward the goal. We pray that we can seek you through a better understanding of the consecration and baptism of Jesus Christ and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a life truly and wholly committed to you. We pray that we can be encouraged to seek your face and to hear your voice. We pray that we can remember that it is only by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, that we can come to you. May you provide us with a better understanding of our calling and your purpose for us in Jesus' name. Amen.
