Christopher, we are with you in spirit and in truth, standing together in Jesus' name to cast out the spirit of narcissism that has been affecting your life. We appreciate that you have come to us with this concern, recognizing the need for deliverance and healing. Let's address this together, seeking God's will and His divine intervention.
Firstly we acknowledge all have fallen short. For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 WEB) Being saved does not stop us from sinning and we may struggle with a particular sin as by the temptation of the spirit of narcissism. We are called to die to self as Jesus denied himself and took up His cross for us. Whoever doesn't bear his own cross refers to their urges or most important possessions, and follow after Jesus, and follow after me, isn't worthy of me.(Matthew 10:38 WEB) Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life will preserve it (Luke 17:33 WEB)
Narcissism is rooted in self-love and pride, which is contrary to the humble and loving nature that God calls us to exemplify. In Philippians 2:3-4 WEB, the Apostle Paul exhorts us, "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Look not to your own interests, but rather to the interests of others. We are also told to put our confidence in God rather than ourselves as some mistakenly do. Our pride in who we are is misplaced and should be in whose we are as Christians. It's all about Jesus not about us. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God Psalm 105:37; Proverbs 3:5; 2 Corinthians 3:5 WEB)
You have specifically asked for the removal of narcissism. We must use discernment in assuming it is gone after this prayer and live spiritual lives armored against any spirits that may seek to destroy our Christian walk. Spirits may attempt to gain a foothold. Perhaps some headway may be made before realizing it and confessing it. To be ready to be proactive and not reactive to our nature keeping in mind, We are called to die to self as Jesus denied himself and took up His cross for us.
The Bible tells us that while it may be difficult to come out from under specific sins, Jesus still sees us as white as snow and the righteousness of God. The blood of Jesus does not wash us partially clean but entirely clean in His eyes even though we may still be stained in the world's eyes. For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a righteous person someone would even dare to die. But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God's wrath through Jesus.(Romans 5:6-9 WEB). Since we are justified in His blood we do not lose our salvation with every future sin, nor do we have to walk in condemnation. Therefore there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who are called according to his purpose as our faith is not determined by our behavior. We have been crucified with Christ and crucified to the world.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ IJN, seeking Your divine intervention in Christopher's life and ours. We need to be crucified with Jesus. Lord, we acknowledge that narcissism is a spirit that exalts itself above Your ways, and we stand united in rebuking this spirit, it needs to be crucified in our lives. We command it to leave in Jesus' name IJN, and we pray that You would fill Christopher and us with Your Holy Spirit, replacing any void with Your loving presence. The Holy Spirit will be quenched unless the sin that would separate us from God is crucified.
Father, help Christopher and us to cultivate a heart of humility and love, putting others before self, just as Jesus did and commanded us as it says in 1 Corinthians 13 WEB. Guide us in all relationships, that we may honor You in every interaction. Reveal to us any areas where pride or self-love may still be lurking, and give us the strength to overcome these temptations through the power of Your Holy Spirit. We must take up our cross daily dying to self to crucify the flesh as Jesus took up His cross.
Lord, we thank You for Your unfailing love and mercy. You are compassionate and always all ways faithful. We claim your promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB that You will not allow us to be overcome and that we may bear it.
Therefore, Lord, we ask that You would heal Christopher and everyone in this group as part of His body, delivering them from the spirit of narcissism, and empowering them to live lives that reflect Your glory in all they do. They must have faith that they are healed but keep their guard up looking spiritual for any area spirit may attempt to take a foothold with any other spirits that may tempt them. This is especially true of spirits of sexual immorality, as their relationship with Christ is their spiritual marriage. Sex can only take place within marriage here on earth. Your Spirit will only dwell in us if we are separate from sin and crucified to self toward the world. Romans 12:9 WEB says "Let love be without hypocrisy. Leave from evil and hold on to the goodness of God as you bear your cross."
We pray all this in Jesus' name IJN. We continue to be here for you in prayer and counsel, and we are confident that God, who began a good work in you and everyone in this group, will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus IJN.
Also anyone the Holy Spirit convicts to pray for Christopher and anyone here and as a member of our group will receive blessings from God.
Remember therefore how you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. If therefore you will not watch, will be separated from God and not knowing what hour I will come to you but if you repent and crucify your flesh. Revelation 3:3 WEB For your obedience is known to all. I rejoice therefore over you. But I desire to have you wise in that which is good, but innocent in that which is evil. Romans 16:19 WEB This is why we watch not entertaining any spirit contrary to God's Spirit through the work of Jesus on the cross.
If you need further counsel or have specific struggles, do not hesitate to share with us, that we may support you in prayer and biblical guidance as that is why we are here.
AmenWe're here with you, Christopher, standing in Jesus' name to cast out the spirit of narcissism that's been affecting your life. We're reminded that "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6, NKJV). Let's humble ourselves before God, asking for His grace and healing.
We know that pride and self-love are at the root of narcissism, and we're called to love God and others above ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). Let's pray together:
"Dear Lord, in Jesus' name, we come before You. We confess any pride or self-love in our lives, and we ask for Your forgiveness. We ask that You would fill us with Your Holy Spirit, replacing these harmful spirits with Your love and humility.
Help us, Lord, to cultivate hearts that put others before self, just as Jesus did. Guide us in our relationships, that we may honor You in every interaction. Reveal to us any areas where pride or self-love may still be lurking, and give us the strength to overcome these temptations through the power of Your Holy Spirit.
Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and mercy. We trust in Your healing power, and we believe that You will deliver us from the spirit of narcissism. Help us to walk in Your ways, bearing our crosses daily, and living lives that reflect Your glory.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
