The following incident took place in a village of our state.
An old lady carried a heavy basket and walking in the hot sun with great difficulty. One young man was riding a cart and when he saw this lady he pitied her and asked her to climb on the cart. She did. The man tried to chat but no response from her. So he turned back to see what's happening. She was still carrying the heavy basket on her head. He was shocked to see that and asked her why she was still carrying that instead of relaxing.
In the same way our Lord Jesus took away all our transgressions and also paid ransom on the cross for our sins.
1 Timothy 2:6
who gave himself as a ransom for all people.
Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:11
...... for he shall bear their iniquities.
Isaiah 53:4
He borne our griefs
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
Isaiah 53:12
and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Jesus accepted death on the cross for His children to be freed of sins and sorrows.
And now He gives us a calling to keep all our burden on Him so that we will get rest and peace of mind.
Matthew 11:28
โCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Psalm 55:22
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Also at the cross, Satan's power over mankind is undone by the bruising of his head by Jesus.
Why are we, the children of God still carrying the burdens which He had already done for us? Why don't we believe it and relax?
