We understand that you and your boyfriend are seeking employment and we are here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. Firstly, let's address the relationship as a courtship that should be honoring God with marriage as the desired goal. 1Corinthians 13:5, Love rejoices not in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth. (WEB).We must be sure we are not treating these jobs as idols or seeking wealth without work. In addition, we are concerned that Jesus was not mentioned as the means of your request. It is only through Jesus that we can approach God the Father.
Let's turn to the scriptures for encouragement and guidance. In Colossians 3:23-24 WEB, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ." (WEB). This suggests there is no job that is beneath us if we are working for Jesus. Also Psalms 90:17 "Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands." (WEB). We see the only means for the Lord to favor us is to believe in Jesus.
We are instructed not to worry about the material things. In Matthew 6:31-33, WEB, it states "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
You should both be in prayer together, united in your petitions to God. Relationship and financial pressures can be challenging, but remember that God is faithful. In Romans 8:28 WEB "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Myndarren and her boyfriend. We pray that you will guide them in their career paths and open the doors to the jobs that align with your will. Help them to trust in your timing and provision, and to seek first your kingdom and righteousness.
We also pray for their relationship. Guide them in your wisdom and help them to honor you in their courtship. We pray that their relationship is based on your love and leadership. May they both seek to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. May they be reminded that only through believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus is salvation found. Help them to be a light to the world as they continue their walk with you.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let's wait upon the Lord together. Take courage. All things are working together because you love God and are called according to His purpose. God knows all the desires of our hearts and that includes our daily jobs and who we will marry.
