Career Breakthrough

Pastor please for breakthrough in my career. I was made redundant some months back and its been very difficult getting another job. Each time my CV is sent forth, recruiter will say I have the matching skillset and yet the job is given to something less experienced. A pastor friend said God told him the reason for my predicament was because I helped a certain relation that was very poor and helpless. I am right now financially challenged and I don't want to carry this negativity to 2025. Pastor Jerry said last Sunday during the 11th anniversary of streams of Joy that in 11 days God will grant our heart desires, I want God to confirm His words as it will be 11 days this Wednesday. Pastor Jerry please pray for me.

Torekridan, we understand your distress and desire for a breakthrough in your career. We are here to pray and provide biblical encouragement for you.

Firstly, it's important to remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB) We should be cautious about prophecies that link your job struggles to helping a poor relative. The Bible tells us that those who give to the poor will lack nothing, moreover helping the poor is considered lending to the Lord. While your pastor friend may have good intentions, it's crucial to test every spirit and not accept every prophecy blindly. (1 John 4:1 WEB) Helping the poor and needy is a godly act of compassion, which God blesses. Proverbs 19 17 WEB says Those who are kind to the poor lend to Yahweh; he will reward them yes, he will give them an honorable reward.

Regarding your career, we encourage you to stay prayerful. Psalm 37 4 (Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart) indicates that God will give you the desires of your heart if you delight yourself in Him. However, remember this also often means the Lord changes your desires to align them more with what he wants to see fulfilled in your life, which is good to start to ask what you can do for God and what he wants for your life. God desires for us to trust in Him and not lean on our own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB) Commit your life to him and he will guide your steps, even using you as a blessing to others, which you are obviously doing.

In your prayer request, God's word in 1 Timothy 2 5 (For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus) reminds us to offer prayers specifically through Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and are saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB)

With that in mind, let us pray for your situation together.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Torekridan. We pray that You will guide his steps and open the right doors for his career. We ask that You will bless Him with a job that aligns with Your will for his life and allows him to be a blessing to others. Lord, we pray for your godly wisdom for Torekridan so that, in time you will help him to see your will for his life. We trust in Your promises and ask that You will confirm the words spoken by your servants, the prophets.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Avoid would be wise to be prudent or the Lord would help him to be prudent with future circumstances as there is also no indication you should continue to give to those that do not work and will not provide for themselves as the scriptures indicate in 2 Thessalonians 3 10 WEB For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: "If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat." Therefore, he need to be circumspect as a wise Christian.

Lastly, remember that God is faithful, and He will provide for your needs. Stay encouraged and continue to seek His face so YOU can see His will.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with gratitude and faith, trusting that You are a God who hears and answers prayers. Lord, You know the challenges this person has faced in their career journey. You see their heart, their dedication, and the disappointment they’ve endured, despite their qualifications and efforts.


Your Word reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Lord, we stand on this promise, believing that Your plans for them are filled with hope and good things.


Father, we reject every spirit of negativity and limitation that has tried to hinder their progress. As it is written in Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper,” we declare that any force working against their breakthrough is nullified in Jesus' name.


Lord, if there are past actions, whether intentional or unintentional, that may have opened doors to hindrances, we plead for Your mercy. Your Word in Psalm 103:12 assures us, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” Cleanse, restore, and bless them abundantly.


Your Word in Psalm 84:11 says, “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Father, we ask that You open the doors of opportunity that have been shut. Let their CV and applications find favor in the eyes of recruiters and decision-makers. Proverbs 3:4 says, “Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.” We declare divine favor over every step they take.


Lord, You are a God who answers prayer. As they have connected their faith with the prophetic declaration of Pastor Jerry, let this season of delay turn into a testimony. Your Word in Habakkuk 2:3 assures us, “Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Let this Wednesday, the 11th day, bring their long-awaited testimony, confirming Your Word.


Father, we also lift up their financial situation to You. Your Word in Philippians 4:19 promises, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” We pray for supernatural provision and restoration. Let helpers locate them, and let abundance replace lack.


Finally, Lord, we stand on Psalm 126:5–6, “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.” May their tears and struggles turn into laughter and celebration. May this season of waiting transform into a season of fulfillment and overflow.


We declare breakthrough, restoration, and divine acceleration in Jesus’ name. Amen.
