Let us pray,
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this individual who desires to compete in professional boxing and MMA. We know that You have a purpose and a plan for each of us, and we pray for Your will to be done in this situation.
Father, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom. We know that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to glorify You in our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray that this individual would seek Your will above all else, and that they would use their abilities to bring You honor and glory.
We also pray for protection and safety. We know that such sports can be dangerous, and we ask that You would shield and protect this individual from harm. We pray that they would train diligently and responsibly, always mindful of their physical well-being.
However, we must also address the violence inherent in these sports. We are called to be peacemakers, blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God. We are called to love our enemies, to turn the other cheek, and to live at peace with everyone (Matthew 5:9,44 Romans 12:18). We ask that You would guide this individual to reconcile these principles with their desire to compete in these sports.
We also note that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We believe that it is only by His name that we have access to God, and that there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage this individual to put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and to seek His will in all things, including prayers.
We pray that You would guide this individual in the path that You have set for them, and that they would be a light for You in whatever they do. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage this individual to spend time in prayer and in God's Word, seeking His will for their life. We also encourage them to seek godly counsel from fellow believers, and to consider the principles of God's Word in their decision-making.
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don’t lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
