Can’t get rid of constant fear

Beloved of All
Father in the name of Jesus Christ can you please help me to banish fear. I believe it has to do with being publicly humiliated and degraded at different places such as ### and ###. I’ve been the laughing stock. Therefore I closed up and only deal with people on a surface level not letting them get too close. Father I want friends that believe in you and are trustworthy.

We understand that you're struggling with constant fear, and we're here to support and pray with you in Jesus' name. Fear can be a crippling emotion, but we are called to live in faith and trust in God. The Bible tells us, For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" (Romans 8:15 WEB).

Firstly, we want to address the root of your fear. You mentioned that past humiliations and degradations at school and work have left you feeling vulnerable and afraid. It's important to remember that your identity is not defined by these past experiences, but by who you are in Christ. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB).

We encourage you to forgive those who have wronged you, not because their actions are excusable, but because unforgiveness can keep you bound to the past. As the Bible says, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB).

Regarding your desire for trustworthy friends who believe in God, we pray that God will bring such people into your life. But remember, it's important to be open and vulnerable with others, as this is how we build strong, godly relationships. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. (Romans 12:10 WEB).

Let's pray together:

Dear Father,

We come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with fear. We pray that you would heal the wounds of the past and replace fear with your perfect love, for perfect love casts out fear. (1 John 4:18 WEB).

Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, and release them from the bondage of unforgiveness. Bring godly, trustworthy friends into their life, who will encourage and support them in their walk with you.

Give them the courage to be open and vulnerable with others, and help them to build strong, godly relationships that honor you.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to emphasize the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It's wonderful that you acknowledged this in your request. Jesus said, Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. (John 16:23 WEB). So continue to come boldly before God's throne of grace, seeking His help in Jesus' name.

We're here with you, feeling your struggle with constant fear. It's like a heavy cloud that's hard to shake off, but remember, God is always there, ready to help. He's not a distant figure, but our loving Father who wants the best for us.

We understand that past experiences at school and work have left you feeling vulnerable and afraid. It's like those moments keep playing in your mind, making you feel small and powerless. But we need to remind ourselves, and you too, that your worth isn't defined by those moments. You are a child of God, loved and valued beyond measure.

Let's not forget, God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). That power is within you, waiting to be tapped into. It's like having a superpower, but you've forgotten how to use it. Let's start by claiming that power together, right now.

We also want to encourage you to take steps towards forgiveness. Holding onto grudges only keeps you stuck in the past. Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was okay, it means you're choosing to let go of the hurt and trust God with justice. As it says in Matthew 6:14-15, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

As for trustworthy friends, we believe God will bring them into your life. But remember, it's a two-way street. You've got to be open and vulnerable too. It's like planting a seed, you've got to give it space to grow. As Romans 12:10 says, "Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor."

Let's pray together:

"Dear Father, we come to you in Jesus' name. We lift up our friend who's struggling with fear. We ask that you would heal the wounds of the past. Replace fear with your love, because perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, and bring godly, trustworthy friends into their life. Give them the courage to be open and vulnerable, and help them to build strong, godly relationships that honor you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
