We are truly sorry to hear about Daniel Prestynn Naidoo's struggle with weed addiction. Let us remember that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with our bodies. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
Daniel needs to understand that true freedom from addiction comes from the power of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we can overcome the chains of addiction. As it is written in Galatians 5:1 WEB, "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up Daniel Prestynn Naidoo. Lord, we know that Daniel medical use has turned into an addiction which is destroying him. Lord, we pray that You will deliver Daniel from this bondage. Help him to trust fully in Jesus, his Savior. Help him to see that it is only through Jesus Christ that Daniel can be saved and healed to live a whole life.
Father, we pray that You will give Daniel the strength to overcome this addiction. Help him to turn away from this temptation and to turn to You for his comfort and support, as stated in Psalms 55:22 (NIV) "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."
Lord, we also pray that You will bring godly people into Daniel's life to support and encourage him in this journey. Help him to seek professional help if needed, and to trust in You every step of the way.
Father, we ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
Daniel, we strongly recommend you seek out a local Christians support group, your pastor, or a local Celebrate Recovery program that is very likely in your area. Also, Daniel, if you have not already done so, call out to Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
We are confident that with God's help and Daniel's commitment, he can overcome this addiction. Let us continue to pray for him and support him in any way we can.
Rebuking: Daniel, we are concerned that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request as this is the only way to access God the Father.
If marijuana use is legal where you live, you should know that just because something is legal does not mean it is not sin. Romans 13:1-3 WEB states "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore, he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment. For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority". Legality is not the standard of righteousness. God's Word is the measure for right and wrong. The government can only pass laws to regulate behavior, not to determine morality. Therefore, even if marijuana use is legal where you live, it is still sinful if it controls you as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:12 WEB "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything".
Daniel, God did not create us and intend for us to be dependent on Him and His Word, but not be dependent on anything else. Jesus said in John 8:36 "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed".
