The Bible tells us to avoid drunkenness and not to be mastered by anything except Jesus Christ. Although your father has quit smoking, he is still drinking. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:18, Do not be drunk with wine, for that is reckless living. But be filled with the Spirit. This is not a suggestion but a command to all believers.

Heavenly Father, we come before you lifting up our brother ###. Lord, you know the battle he is facing against cancer. We ask for your healing touch upon his lungs, liver, and colon. Have mercy on him and forgive his sins, especially his continued drinking which does not align with your will. Please give him the strength to overcome this addiction and to trust in you completely as he goes through this challenging time. Guide his doctors and bring complete healing and restoration to his body. In Jesus' name.

Help him to rely on you and not be drawn back into New Age practices. Continue to reveal yourself to him as he reads and studies your word. In Jesus' name.

Continue to delight yourself in the Lord and trust that he will provide for all your needs. We encourage you to seek God first, in Jesus name.

Remember, Jesus is not just someone we believe in, but our Lord and Savior. We want to encourage you to have a reverence and deep respect for his name. He is the one who has saved us and given us access to the Father. There is no other name by which we may be saved.

There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!
