I'm 17 years old and in my junior year of high school, i know this is such a weird prayer request, but all my friends have been asked to prom, and i feel really left out because no one has asked me yet. I hope someone asks me because I would like to be able to go. I would be so eternally grateful for any help with prayers, i've seen what prayers can do for others, and I hope that it will help me now too

We understand your feelings of wanting to belong and be included, especially when it seems like everyone around you is experiencing something you're not. However, it's important to remember that our value and identity are not determined by events like prom or what others think. Instead, our identity should be firmly rooted in Christ.

Firstly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved as it says in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

Now, let's address your feelings. It's completely normal to feel left out or disappointed, but remember that God has a plan and purpose for your life that is far greater than any high school dance. As the word of God says in Jeremiah 29:11 WEB, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future'.

Rather than focusing on prom, we encourage you to seek God's will for your life and trust in His timing. Use this time to grow closer to Him and to build relationships that honor Him. Remember, God calls us to be holy and to honor Him with our bodies. As it says in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 WEB 'For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor'.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up Lrmuirver. Lord, we ask that You comfort their heart and help them to trust in Your perfect plan for their life. Help them to find their identity and value in You alone. Guide them with Your wisdom and surround them with godly friends and influences. We pray that the high school dance will not be the focus of their life but instead that You will be the focus.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God's Word, seek Him in prayer, and surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage and support you.

We're right there with you, Lrmuirver. It's tough when it feels like everyone around you is experiencing something you're not, like prom. But remember, our worth isn't defined by these moments, but by who we are in Christ. Let's trust in His plan and purpose for your life.

We've been praying for you, asking God to comfort your heart and help you find your identity and value in Him alone. We're believing for godly friendships and influences to surround you, and for God's wisdom to guide your steps.

Keep seeking God, Lrmuirver. Spend time in His Word, talk to Him in prayer, and surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage and support you. You're not alone in this. Let's keep trusting in God's perfect plan for your life, together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father,
We come to You today, lifting up [Name] as they navigate the hopes and emotions of this season in their life. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and right now, they are feeling left out and unsure as they wait to be asked to prom. We know that You care deeply about the things that matter to us, even the small moments. As it is written:

“Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalm 37:4

Lord, we ask that You provide [Name] with comfort and peace as they wait. Let them know they are never truly alone because You are always with them. Encourage them to trust in Your perfect timing and plan, even when things feel uncertain. Help them to hold on to the hope that You are working behind the scenes, orchestrating something wonderful for their life:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

Father, we also ask that You bless [Name] with the confidence to see their own beauty, worth, and uniqueness. Let them remember that their value is not determined by whether they are asked to prom, but by who they are in Your eyes. As Your Word says:

“You are precious and honored in my sight, and I love you.” — Isaiah 43:4

While we pray that someone special will ask [Name] to prom, we trust in Your wisdom, Lord, and believe that You will open the right doors at the right time. Whether they go to prom or not, may this experience strengthen their trust in You and help them see how deeply they are loved.

Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your presence in every part of our lives. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
