Disciple of Prayer
Hi everyone,
A friend of mine has been tormented by an evil, demon's spirit.
My friend is completely blind by the devil, whenever I share and spoke about Jesus and how we need him and he will fill our heart, and give us strength.
Can you please pray for a friend of strength to overcome sin, he always gets distracted and unable to understand or participate in what I am talking about (even though he had knowledge of Christianity and he had been to church for more than 10 years inconsistently, I thought he is just a lukewarm Christian).
At first, I thought maybe it’s my fault that I don’t know how to share my faith in a simple way. One day I was sharing with him that Jesus helped me to recover when I was sick. I said to him, “it’s only Jesus, I haven’t done anything to recover and help myself, it’s only Jesus.” Then my friend suddenly kind of laughed/trying to make fun of what I’m saying. I did not understand why, as I was not saying something funny, so I asked him why it was funny. He said, “oh, nothing, it’s just the way you keep saying repeatedly, it’s only Jesus.” It ended the conversation, and I was quite confused by his reaction.
I also thought the way my friend always acts and behaves weirdly is related to his mental health issues (past trauma, depression, etc.). That’s why his heart is not ready to surrender fully to the Lord. Whenever I can, I try to continue mentioning Jesus. For instance, we were in the car, and we turned on the radio, and it was a worship song, and someone was talking about his relationship with Jesus. “I felt the words were directly for my friend,” my friend said something I can’t remember what was the reason, and he turned off the radio.
Recently, I watched a few believers sharing their testimonies delivered from demons. I prayed once again for my friend, and I felt the Holy Spirit saying that my friend is tormented by demons, and now everything started to make sense to me. The Lord opened my eyes to understand the way he resisted, changing the topic or bringing up more arguments about how many Christians are hypocrites, and acting calmly when he is surrounded by a church group. It’s not because he struggles only from past mental health problems. It’s because he has been refusing to receive the Holy Spirit's conviction. His heart refuses to repent from his sins, therefore demons stayed in his spirit comfortably as long as he knows how to act in public as Christians within the church group, and in secret kept hold on hurts from the past and held on to it, unforgiveness, etc. He stopped going to church. I’m no longer in contact with him, as my conversation is not getting anywhere.
But I believe in the power of prayer, that is why I’m asking you guys to pray with me as well for him, and only Jesus Christ can set him free and break every chain, and stronghold, and truly follow Jesus.
Thanks, to everyone who takes the time to read my prayer request.
