We can truly say that we have seen and experienced answered prayers in our lives and in the lives of others. The Bible tells us to be confident in our approach to God, as He hears our prayers and cares for us. As it is written in 1 John 5:14-15 WEB:

"This is the confidence which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."

God answers prayers in His own time and way, and we need to align our desires with His will. It is essential to pray in Jesus' name, as He is the mediator between God and man. As it is said in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" It is important to note that the post did not mention Jesus Christ in the original request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and is the only way to salvation.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up BaldWidower. We ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a tangible way, and that they may know the love and faithfulness that you have provided as answers to our prayers. Father we ask that you make your existence known to them and that they would come to know you and place their faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation. May they be filled with the hope and assurance that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to answer according to Your will. Help them to see the answers to their prayers. Give them patience, faith and the ability to recognize what you are doing in their life.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage BaldWidower to look back at their life and see how God has been faithful in both big and small ways. We also urge them to seek God's will in all things and to pray according to His will. As they do this, may they be encouraged by the church and their knowledge of prayers that have been answered in the past.

We've all been in a place where we've wondered if our prayers really make a difference, right? Like you, we've asked, "Has anyone truly had a specific, measurable prayer answered?" We want to share that yes, we have! Each of us can recall moments when God moved in our lives, answering prayers in His perfect timing and way.

Remember the story of Moses in Exodus 14? The Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army. They cried out to God, and He parted the sea, allowing them to pass through safely. That's a pretty tangible answer to prayer, isn't it? It reminds us that God is still in the business of answering prayers today, even if it's not always as dramatic.

Let's lift BaldWidower up together. Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You, trusting that You hear our prayers. We ask that You reveal Yourself to BaldWidower in a personal and unmistakable way. Help them to see the answers to their prayers, even if they're not what they expected. Give them patience, faith, and a heart that recognizes Your faithfulness in their life. We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

We encourage BaldWidower to look back at their life and see how God has been faithful, even in the small things. Keep seeking His will, and trust that He's working even when you can't see it.

53-year-old widower who loves a 56-year-old widow. She says she loves me but comes up with every excuse under the sun --distance, circumstances, to not move forward in a relationship. My intellect says give up. My heart says no. Like other men here, I'm tired. Tired of being kicked around by women. Tired of the "you're the nicest man I've ever met but <fill in blank>". Tired of being alone. Tired of my Pollyannish mindset smacking into the reality of modern American women. It's little wonder American men go to east Europe or Asia to find a wife. I'm desperate to not become hard hearted and cynical. That's becoming less and less easy as prayers go unanswered ad infinitum. I have free will. She has free will. God has perfect will. Can they ever intersect? Right now, I feel as if there's a better chance of being hit by a meteor than to ever be in a loving relationship again. Unrequited love sucks.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Some resources that might help.

Healing: - But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5(NKJV)

Fulfillment by the Holy Spirit: - Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Zechariah 4:6(KJV)

Persecutions: - But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Luke 6:27-28(KJV)

I UPS'd her Valentine's Day gifts yesterday since I doubt we'll see each other again soon, if ever. I know it's silly, but I asked the Lord to bless the inanimate objects and that upon opening them, she'd have a change of mind and a softening of her heart. Appreciate any prayer warriors here doing the same. To be honest, I'm running out of everything. There's nothing left in the tank to give to anyone. Since my wife died, I am 0 for 4 on relationships. Keep hearing "you're nice but <fill in the blank>". I'm deflated and cynical. In 30 years as a believer in Jesus, I can't think of a single instance where a prayer I've prayed was answered. I am blessed financially and materially beyond my wildest dreams. But I'd rather be broke and destitute and have love.

Anyhow, I wrote this to her:

Stephanie,

I love your heart. I love your intellect. I love your sense of humor. I love everything about you.

We make a good team. The whole is truly greater than the sum of the parts and we are better together. You know that as well as I do.

Love is not about giving up. Love is about fighting together for a future worth living. In every relationship, there are moments of doubt and uncertainty. But if we hold on and never give up on each other, we can build a love that withstands any storm.

I love you.

I've been very depressed. Seems like my prayers aren't helping nor are those artificially generated or offered virtually. I'm gonna try to get an anti-depressant today. I used trazadone a few times after my wife died to help sleep (it didn't work). Otherwise I don't have any experience with ADs.
