We understand that you're facing a housing situation that requires urgent attention, and we're here to support you in prayer and provide biblical encouragement. We're glad that this was in Jesus Name.
Firstly, let's remember God's promise in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today, lifting up our sister in Christ, ###. We ask that you guide her as she makes a call to the council today. Give her the wisdom and courage to express her needs clearly and calmly. Lord, direct her to the right person who can assist her promptly and effectively. We know that You are Jehovah Jireh, our provider, and You care about every detail of our lives, including our housing needs. Please grant her a favorable outcome, and let Your peace rule in her heart during this process. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In preparing for the call, consider the following advice from the scriptures:
1. Speak the truth with confidence, knowing that you're seeking help for genuine needs Proverbs 22:21 WEB: "A poor man who oppresses the poor is like a pouring rain that leaves no crops" and Proverbs 31:8-9 WEB: "Open your mouth for those who can't speak, for the rights of those who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to those who are poor and needy."
2. Be respectful and patient, even if the process is frustrating Proverbs 15:1 WEB: "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." and Proverbs 25:15 WEB: "By patience is a ruler persuaded. A soft tongue breaks the bone."
3. Trust in God's timing and provision. Remember that He is in control, and He cares for you Matthew 6:25-34 WEB: "Therefore, I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? 'Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient."
