Business Check Issue

We had a business eight years ago. We got a check from the department of corporations because we overpaid some things. It’s for $###. We really need to pay our car, it’s about to be repossessed. Bank of America, who the check is drawn on, will not cash it. Because the business is closed now. We did talk to a check cashing place that said they could possibly do it. We’re praying so hard that they’ll be able to.
